I think I would tell them a little lie and say that the cat has to have special food for a health complaint and by them feeding it they are making it ill. One thing about my mog, it would not go in anyone else's house as it only just likes me.
No, they are taking the mic. If the cat needed a medical bill paying it would soon be sent back to you.0 -
Hmm, could do maybe, hopefully the husband took some notice last night. This cat is not like my others have been, I've been told by other neighbours that they have found her upstairs in their house before.
My mums old siamese used to steal peoples washing and bring it home to keep under her bed, once she dragged home a whole leg of lamb that she'd stolen!
She is very friendly and goes to anyone, although since she came back last night she has been screaming to leave again.:o
Its dd's birthday today, and she is already up and showered, this is a minor miracle, 5am for a 14 year old. She has school and then tea and cake after with granny.
I still have not had time to try and see where to make up the extra i've spent this month, hence getting up early to sort out now, this week will be another mad one I know, finishing with a party on sat. for 23 teenagers. I feel tired already.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
No one can stop your cat wandering off but I can't believe they didn't think to mention they'd been 'keeping' her. I'd be mad too. Good tip there from Michelle.
Happy birthday to your DD aswell.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Feeling a bit better today, only had a couple of hours sleep though due to pets yowling/barking/dd's phone ringing at 1am.
Dd has opened all her pressies from us first thing and her fav was a box with charlie and the choc factory dvd, a load of wonka sweets and a jar of marshmallow fluff from the USA. I should'nt have bothered with the gig tickets and clothes, and just gone for tons of sweets, I would have saved a fortune and she would have loved it!
The house is a tip but we have a great couple of hours before school watching the film while dd and the boys had chocolate for breakfast,
Today I need to go and get some cakes for after school for the relatives. I'm a bit peeved though as dh's parents have told us they won't be coming round as they have friends over from spain. They have not seen dd on her birthday for 2 years as they have been away both times. they did'nt ask if there was anything she would like , she got a card and cash. Its not the money that is important in my book, its the effort. If I'm lucky enough to be a gran one day, there will be no holding me back with getting them lots of little things I know they will love. Last year my dad went up to london just to buy 2 cans of "slurm" juice for ds1 who is the worlds biggest fan of futurama, they were probably the cheapest but best present he had that year.
On the mortgage front i've had £2.95 track on tcb which i shall op today, I will carry on making the small op's while i'm clearing the cc for the next 2 months and then think about sorting out a savings account to stash the op's in.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
This has just inspired me, but I dont have a yearly bonus or lots of extra cash, is there a calculator available where I could see what benefits an extra £50 or so would make?Starting debt - £19,774.42 Remaining debt - £9,262.92
Estimated debt free Jan 2017

Hello, yes there is a calculator, If you go to the top of this page and click mortgages, then you should find martins overpayment calculator in there which will show you the difference £50 per month can make, the longer your mortgage they more difference it makes, good luck!
I've just spent a while working out whats what this month, and holiday spending money is almost non existantI could, not pay off some of the remanining cc bal which I am trying to clear in the next 2 months, however I'm going to try and muddle through instead.
I should fingers crossed get some backdated child tax credit of around £180 ish hopefully, which would go a long way towards it.
Petrol I'll try and squeeze from this months food budget by cutting back.
The money for dd's party is covered, adn it looks like the twins will go for a sleepover which will be a lot cheaper than a party. I did promise legoland for a birthday treat just for family as well, I have just spoken to DH at work and suggested we go without him(mean I know!) and I take my dad who likes to take them out for days out in the holidays, It won't be a s busy during the week and also will reduce the cost for us a bit.
I have a mammouth to do list for this week, todays list is:
...do 2 hours work for dh
....do all washing, up to date
.....do all ironing up to date
.....keep checking cc to see if the statement has been created so i can buy some food!
...clean and tidy my bedroom.
....create a storecupboard dinner, and a diet version for me.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Due to the fact I have been ironing all morning, i decided to have a break and ended up on rightmove. I know I need to block it! I have however found another house for sale in the same road as the first two we like but can't afford. It is the same size but without the garage on the side so a narrower plot, still with a huge garden, and also has the bonus of a utility room and even better a downstairs toilet.
Best of all though its on at only £195k, whereas the other 2 were on at £255 and £243k, i have got the agents to email the photos and it looks in good condition. Its going through probate with a relative living in it who has still to find a property themselves. Its actually at least 20-30k cheaper than our house, so hopefully the mortgage would be a bit less than ours is now.
So, should I go and view? I want to but think I will love it and my house is not at the standard I wanted it to be when (or if) we sell.
DH will be in tears if I tell him i've seen another house for sale:rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

What else does it have that your house doesn't? i.e bedroom size? Why are you wanting to move? Area etc?
The price does sound fab especially considering your location and it would be a bonus to reduce your mortgage too.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hi cath.
Pro's:
120ft garden
downstairs toilet (no room for extra toilet in ours except if loft done)
utility
possibility to extend the back upstairs and downstairs (can't extend ours except loft)
probably quite a bit cheaper than ours
Con's;
10 min drive to school, and they are about to start walking alone
not such a good area
no log cabin/hot tub/conservatory.
on busy b road, but still 30mph limit like the one we are on now but no double deckers!
Reasons for moving are we moved here to get the kids into the secondary school, which they have just got a place at, and never thought this would be our house long term, its been 10 years now and we fancy a change, but have to move out of the area due to high prices.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
You are a hopeless case. :rotfl: Bear in mind you might be committing to driving the kids to school for at least 5, maybe 7 years.
And you have just spent money sorting out the hot tub which you enjoy using and can't take with you.0
