 I'm really really annoyed.
After hunting for ages outside I have finally found my siamese cat - in a neighbours house.
Just catching up with your diary. You can't stop a cat wandering, but your neighbours CAN stop taking it in and encouraging it by feeding it! I think this is outrageous behaviour. They can't just adopt your cat when they know it already has a caring home. I agree with Michelle too, a few white lies about health issues. Lay it on thick and maybe they'll feel a bit guilty too

It's not that far from the truth. If anyone had given my cat titbits, he could have developed a kidney stone and died. I was lucky he never strayed far and he had to have very specialised low protein food which kept him going a few years longer before we lost him.
He was also hugely overweight, and we were trying to make him diet, so he would beg for food he shouldn't have. Sound like me actually when I think about it.
My neighbour felt really sorry for him with his limp and his sad eyes, and she used to ask if she could feed my two cats some leftovers, but I was lucky she asked first. Now she just feeds the kids treats instead.0 -
I had to go fetch her again last night , but she was in their garden not house which is an improvement I suppose. She has been curled up on a cushion indoors today, at last she has realised how lucky she is to have a mummy like me!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Unfortunately, despite this, I think cats can't help themselves if someone else who looks like they might have something nice for them comes along!!
One morning a few years ago I was going to work at 7am on a Sunday morning. I had just fed my lovely boy cat and he'd scoffed the lot. As I went past my neighbours house, there he was sitting in their front room window licking his lips! I later learned that he'd gone round their's gone in through the cat flap and scoffed their cat's breakfast too :rotfl:0 -
Todays to do list is:
- finish washing/ironing from yesterday:o
- clean whole kitchen, cupboard, walls etc
- bathroom deep clean
- couple of hours work for dh
Yesterday I booked an appoitment to see the house (for thurs eve), I did explain we don't even have ours up for sale, as I did'nt want to waste their time as some buyers won't even let you view if you are not in the market, we have experienced this in the past.
We are 50/50 whether we should cancel as this will sound daft, but we know we will really like the house, its just whether we should move to less desirable area.
On mortgage related matters I'm still waiting for my onepoll payout to hit my acct, its been over a week now I think, plus I still can't use my cc yet, they usually produce the statement around the 10th, which is really annoying and the petrol light came on this morning but i refuse to fill up until I can put it on the card.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Last time I wanted to move and I did a mad clean and tidy getting this place ready (decorating had been done previous time I wanted to move!
) I honestly believed after viewing the house we would be putting ours on the market but I was so disappointed with the viewing it made me realise what we have here. I might not have my dream kitchen diner but do have a playroom that's 21x12 feet I really couldn't live without!
Hope you like the house and can get yours on the market though.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Thanks cath! thats exactly what I have been thinking about the last few days, my head says area is more important but my heart says move to a house with a big garden and room to extend.
Well the descision has been made and the appointment to view has been cancelled. What pushed me was speaking to the BS again to clarify if we can transfer the amount of borrowing and we definatly can't, they go on affordability and as we have 3 kids that reduces the amount we can borrow by a lot, we can go up to £70K if we take out a 30 year mortgage on an income of £41K, which does not seem a lot. When over the last year we have been paying around £1700 ish a month for the mortgage.
Come may next year we can change provider. We definatly want to move , but maybe we should have a slightly longer term plan , if we put everything into it we could clear the mortgage in just under 8 years, but then the kids would be adults. I quite like the idea of following that plan but maybe only for 4 years and then taking out a bigger mortgage to get a really nice big house that would be a family home for us and the kids when they are a bit older, that way we could go for a 4 bed detatched sort of house rather than buying something smaller and extending.
List of jobs to do is doing ok, I spent all day yesterday steam cleaning the kitchen and it looks fab now. Today I shall do the bathroom and kids rooms.
I am still pretty broke, I managed to use the cc last night and spent £38 on 1 basket of shopping at mr.t express, not sure how really!
Have filled up on petrol and now have £57 to use on the card for the rest of the month plus £50 pw wages, plus dd birthday food and cake to buy, a trip to legoland for the boys birthday and a birthday sleepover and cake for them. Oh and spending and petrol money for a weeks holiday in devon. A challenging new few weeks for sure.
Still doing my surveys everyday though.;)MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
You do have a lot of things needing paying for over the next month. I'm dreading heading into August as we will have about 10 days with no time to do my usual money making, and spending more. Don't know how we will balance it.
Mr T is so expensive. I am only doing so well this week after picking up all my food bargains last weekend. We've eaten so cheaply this week.0 -
I have done a mr t shop for all the extras we need for dd's party, sausages, more drinks and lots of sauces for the bbq. Now have used all this month allocated cc allowance.
We have all been decorating the log cabin tonight for her party and it looks fantastic. We have some of those scene setters with palm trees and hawaiian ladies, and the boys have said they will run the "bar"
We have removed all the alcohol and put up cans of fizzy they can choose from instead, the only problem is the boys have decided they might like a party like this too. I have no budget for this but they have only one week left of primary school and they won't see a lot of their friends again. Their birthday is 2 days after school breaks up, how can I say no to a party?!
I'm doing well with swagbucks, only another 60 odd to get before a £5 amazon voucher now, still waiting for OP to appear in my acct. VO up to £9.50 with 50p pending, so close.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I have finally caved, there is no way i can cover everything in the next couple of months.
The plan ws to clear the overdraft (which exisits as I transfered my 0% card when the deal ended, but they gave me a lower limit on the new 0%.)
So I have an OD with the A&L at a cost of £10 PM starting this month, I had planned to clear it in july and august and not op the mortgage until sept.
New plan is to pay it off over 3 months instead freeing up £646, over july/august and then oping the mortgage with £323 sept.
This puts the mortgage back a month, so I have worked out i need to op by £10 extra a month until july2012 to take the end date back down to feb 2019 the origional end date.(or wishful thinking end date!)
The actual cost to me is £8 in interest on the mortgage and £10 in overdraft charges form the A&L. I think it is worth it, as I really want to enjoy this summer with the kids , I am starting to feel a bit sad as when they leave next friday it will be the end of an era, once they hit senior school it all changes and they turn into teenagers overnight almost, by my experience with dd.
So I'm definatly doing a party for them they day after they leave , which is also the day before their 11th birthdays. Then I am going to have a little to spend during the 6 weeks holidays on trips out , plus some spending money for devon.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
