Adopting a Rescue Dog with a Young Child?

Still not heard anything about the home visit to see if we are suitable to adopt our little one - I'm thinking it's not going to happen now

Sagaris, I sense you are being pessimistic as a bit of a self protection mechanism...? i.e.e if you pre-empt it all going wrong it can't hurt you as much if it does? I can understand it, when I was getting Badger, I daren't get my hopes up too much until she was here and mine - as my emotons were still raw after losing my last dog..
I think it's likely that they are just busy and not that organised.. it's only been a day and a bit after all, and I guess most of the people involved will be volunteers with other jobs etc... why not ring them and ask if you can arrange a date, so that you can be sure you are available/don't double book yourself etc?0 -

Exactly right - you are a mind reader! I'm taking the line that is she's meant for us she will be here eventually - but it's really hard, our other dog has left such a space in our lives, it didn't help that the vets rang today to say her ashes are ready for collection.........
I've sent a message via FB and also a text, saying when we are available for the home check (as requested) - I don't want to appear pushy though.
Patience really isn't my strong point!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
