Have a good holiday Woodbine, did you know you can get sun screens on prescription if you're on certain anti-epileptics? I can't remember which one they gave me to try to control my anoxic seizures (unrelated to epilepsy) and when we went on hols doctor prescribed the sunscreen because the meds would make me fry like a crisp.

  • Whoever you contacted was talking rubbish. You are not entitled to income support if you are not in the country.

i queeried what i was told and the answer was still the same in no uncertain terms, they dont need notification but she thanked me for phoning anyway, then wished me a good holiday.

Good for you - on you go then, oh, but you'd have to take all the illness and ailments that some of these claimants are on too - I'll bet you enjoy good health don't you? Stupid cow

    Woodbine - have a helluva holiday :)

If you're working full-time, you're entitled to a statutory minimum of 28 days holiday a year. As you're working, I assume you're earning? If you combine the former with the latter, you too could have a holiday in the Canaries... ;)

    Have a great holiday Woodbine!
It's all very well saying that she should be able to afford a holiday as she is earning but the simple fact is that a lot of people on low incomes cannot afford one after all their outgoings (and that's even if you do budget well)

Be careful what you wish for - particularly in a recession!

I dont need help in budgeting my income thank you,i know how much goes in and out.I have been unemployed and decided instead of living off the state i would get off my backside and work to support my family. In the present economic climate i would be better off on benefits, housing, council tax, school dinners, prescriptions, glasses, dentists, college courses and by the sounds of thing 2 week holidays, but i still beleive in if you can work then you should work, maybe i am just old fashioned.I am sorry if this sounds harsh but i am sure there are many other people on here who feel the same as me.
