Ok, so I was going to keepon getting my underarms professionally waxed but I just plucked up (hahahaha!) the courage and took my silk epil to my pits... it was fine!!!! I am so chuffed.

I can save nearly a tenner and month now, and saved twenty five pounds a month on my leg waxing. Epilating seems to be the money saving hair removal technique, IMHO!!

I've been waxed down there before...painful but quick! But i've moved to a new area (London) where i'm sure there millions of places to get it all waxed away to oblivion i don't know where to start and want to save money! I epilated the lot down there once or twice and tried with smaller wax strips the other day... was fine actually but it got annoying because they were small and it felt like i'd be doing it for days so gave up and just got the sugaring stuff. I epilate my legs so will only be using the sugaring for my various other 'gardens' :rotfl: and i got £3 off anyway, which meant i basically got a free spreader thing and the reusuable strips for free.

We'll see how this goes lol

I've just bought this - http://www.boots.com/en/Philips-HP6509-Satinelle-Soft-Total-Body-Epilator_951343/ as it's half price just now - £27.49 and bought with my boots points. I've tried the Boots Skin Smooth system and found it rubbish so hoping this will be better and a lot cheaper

Ooh people you're all v brave to try waxing your bikini line yourself! I epilate or have my underarms waxed all the time, but i get other waxing done where i work, get a brazillian done with hot wax at a good salon, it shouldn't be embarassing, they see it all the time! lol

Being as this thread is up and running, can I ask a question please?
I have a phillips epilator- this one (although it wasn't that expensive when I bought it! :eek:)

I don't tend to use the ice pack with it as I don't really need it, but does anyone else find that epilating takes ages? It takes me 30 minutes to do just the bottom halves of my legs, and I have to do it about once a week to keep them smooth enough.

I really want to epilate because I want the long lastingness that is supposed to come when you've been doing it a while - problem is I just get fed up with knowing I'm gonna have to spend ages doing them after a shower, it's much easier to just run the razor over them! What am I doing wrong???!

Not sure why it takes you quite so long, my legs i can have both done bottom halves in about 15 mins, but my leg hair is not thick and quite sparse due to years off ripping them out so maybe it depends on how dense your growth is.

I have to do my legs once a week too but if i shave i have to do it everyday, which i am far too lazy to do

My armpits though which are denser hair last for ages before i have to redo and my bikini line...I can't fathom it out
