silk appeal braun epilator

I have just seen an advert on TV for one of these. And seen some reviews on youtube. Does anyone have any experience with one? Are they any good for legs, underarms and bikini area? Could you go bald down below with one?:p:o

I have this one, but the one that you can use in the shower. Its th only epilator I've used. I found I got used to it on legs very quickly, and while still pain ful on underarms I'm getting better. I have used in on bikini line, but without real success (only had it a couple of months so early days) because it hurst, and it hurts more if the hair is the worng length, which mine always is when I feel brave enough to try. It works, but it hurts. I really like it for legs.

Could it be used to remove all hair down below? Or is the only way waxing? As thats my main draw for wanting it.

I doubt it tbh, I wouldn't be brave enough. But then I've never been a waxer there either and when I'm so inclined irs a daily shave for me.

If it is possible I'd be impressed, there must be some sort of pain technique for any hair on the mucous membrane:eek:

I think you would have to be slightly mad to try, at least waxing is quick and over before you can even think about the pain, i think you'd find yourself a little patchy and out of pain relief drugs or whisky halfway through :D

    Epilation:
    Legs - fab!
    Underarms - slightly sore!
Bikini line - two hairs out and I cried like a baby!! Waxing all the way for that one... :)

I have my own warm wax machine bought from sallys, so it's just like the ones they use in salons. Initial outlay, but I've had mine about ten years now so just pay for the wax refil tubs, but they last aaaages! You can get a 'student special' waxing kit, for the trainee beauty therapists, contains the machine, strips, wax, aftercare lotion and wax removing oil as far as I know.
  • yes, you can take it all off with waxing. have you ever waxed before?

Oh right never heard of it, is that the brands name 'sallys' ?

It Sounds good, just what I am after if its not too expensive.

No I have never waxed before. Only used stuff like Veet cream, I presume waxing it with strips isnt like Veet cream?
