Such a good idea - I really need to stick to it this week:
Tonight has been pasta and jar of sauce from cupboard
Tomorrow - Sausages & Mash (OOps turned out to be hot dogs - the neighbours BBQ smell was hard to resist!)
Monday - Egg & chips (home made) Turned out to be OOPs'd pie from Tesco & veg.
Tuesday - Lasagne - Turned out to be beef stew & rice
Wednesday - Beef stew from freezer - will be salmon & veg
Thursday - Salmon & veg - Egg & Chips is whats left!!!
Friday - some sort of veg curry with whatever I have left in the freezer! Will be Lasagne
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Fri: Salmon with a layer of ricotta cheese, spinach and breadcrumbs, salad and new potatoes

Freakyogre The trick with using prawns in a stir fry is to add them last and only cook for a couple of minutes or they will be tough x

Oooh, that sounds delicious. Will have to steal that idea for another time.

Thanks for the advice about the prawns :)

    Hi everyone

This thread has really helped me focus on what I need to get out of the freezer when and see what I really need when I go shopping.

Am currently putting together an online shop and although it's about £40 a month more than I used to spend on the big shop it includes a lot more meat/fish to freeze, a box of wine to last the month and stuff for lunches. So much cheaper than it used to be!! :T

This week I'm going for something like this:
    • Monday - Chicken & prawn curry
    • Tuesday - Baked potatoes and something
    • Wednesday - At a friend's
    • Thursday - Lamb steaks with potatoes and veg from the freezer (and hopefully OH's onion gravy)
    • Friday - HM cottage pie and veg
    • Saturday - ?
    • Sunday - A roast of some description
Lunches are either leftovers or a pearl barley risotto that I'm going to make now.

Breakfasts are either cereal or the weetabix loaf I made

    Catch up during the week

    La
