Hope it's ok to post this. I couldn't see it had been started.

Next week for me should go like this: -

Monday – going out on a work do, so no idea

Tuesday – prawn stir fry with noodles – kinda new, don’t think I’ve actually had prawns in a stir fry before!

Wednesday – [STRIKE]pasta bake (not sure what yet) - this may change as I have some other bits to use, so would rather not 'create' more food![/STRIKE] made cauliflower cheese instead :D

Thursday – broccoli and red pepper quiche with wedges and corn on the cob

Friday – macaroni cheese with bacon/gammon

Saturdaysouthern fried chicken with wedges and mini corn on the cob

Sunday – fragrant pork and rice one pot <-- new recipe for the week

I'm going to make a quiche at the weekend as have loads of gammon and eggs to use, so will have that for lunches during the week. Mmm!

What's everyone else having?

All usually with a side salad

    Mid-pm snack: crackers, carrot, nuts

Thanks freakyogre - I was just halfway making my plan. Have to re-think a little, as we had a meal at our neighbours this week, and it looks as if the weekend is going to be nice weather which means DH is going to request a BBQ. That means some of last week's stuff moves along.

Friday - tortellini & tuna salad
Saturday - BBQ (sausages, HM chili sauce, couscous, rocket salad with pear & blue cheese)
Sunday - re-cycled beef ossobuco, probably in spicy sauce with chick peas, brown rice, lambs lettuce
Monday - pork, noodle and cauliflower stir-fry
Tuesday - HM pizza and salad
Wednesday - turkey 'hawaii', rice and spinach or salad
Thursday - taking my elderly neighbour on a trip to the UK, so DH will have to dig into the freezer until I am back on Monday. (However the neighbour's husband is a good cook so it is not unlikely DH will benefit)

    Have a good week, everyone!

Thank you for starting the thread freakyogre :)

We are not doing too badly with the old menu planning, I like having some idea of an easy dinner to cook on nights when I'm late/on duty so it doesn't end up in a takeaway at 8pm  quite often I will get the dinner prepped 1-2 days in advance for these nights so we don't have any choice lol

The plan for this week is:

Sun-boiled ham, with spinach ricotta dumplings and mustard sauce (econ gastron) with roast spuds and purple sprouting brocolli
Mo-Ham and cheese omelettes, with chips and salad.
Tu-cauliflower macaroni cheese (maybe with some ham or pancetta)
We-Asian style steamed salmon (jamie oliver MOF) with steamed rice and greens
    Th-Spaghetti bolognase with salad
Fr-Pork chops, with a mustard, mushroom and cream sauce, saute pots, something green
Sa-Steak, green beans (or other veg) with a potato, onion and rosemary gratin
    Su-Roast chicken, spuds, veg etc

We are getting a taster box from the Well Hung Meat company that comes on the friday-so the steak and chicken are from that, the pork chops are in the freezer and we have pretty much everything else that we need for the week bar the fish, which I haven't completely decided on, it may be roasted white fish with leeks (from Jamie @home) or something completely random depending on what looks good at the fishmongers :D

Hope everyones weeks go well :)

Thanks for starting us off freakyogre but - does that mean it's Thursday again already?!:eek::eek:

Apparently so! This week I've got:

Edit - slight change of plan as Waitrose didn't have any ready-made polenta and I'm not in the mood for standing over a boiling pot to make some:

Friday - sausage and fennel ragu (from delicious magazine) [STRIKE]with polenta wedges[/STRIKE] with HM garlic bread
Saturday - sausages and apple braised in cider (from a Waitrose recipe card) with potato and celeriac mash and green beans
Sunday - boiled bacon [STRIKE]with baked polenta with rosemary, cherry tomatoes and parmesan[/STRIKE] with parmesan capaletti (mini tortelloni) in tomato and pesto sauce
Monday - Basque eggs with LO bacon and HM focaccia
Tuesday - pasta al lago (bacon, cheese and egg - sort of (but not really) carbonara)
Wednesday - root veg, tomato and bean casserole
Thursday - steak and ale pie (from the freezer) and some sort of veg (it depends what's in the veg box that arrives on Thursday)

I won't be doing any baking as I could do with losing a bit of weight, but there may well be some stewed pears as my fridge is currently full to overflowing with them!
Back after a very long break!
  • The weeks are really rolling by fast
Still running the freezers down hopefully it will last till pay day then I am off to Freezer shoppers club to fill up again :D

Sun: Roast Beef and Y pud with roasties, swede, carrots and runner beans

Mon; Chicken korma with boiled rice

Tues : HM meatloaf with HM tomato sauce, new potatoes and runner beans

Weds: HM Sausage plait , mash and beans

    Thurs: Spag Bol

Fri: Salmon with a layer of ricotta cheese, spinach and breadcrumbs, salad and new potatoes

Saturday : HM Ham and pineapple pizza with wedges

Sun: Roast Pork, stuffing, Roastie potatoes, carrots, parsnips and broccoli

Freakyogre The trick with using prawns in a stir fry is to add them last and only cook for a couple of minutes or they will be tough x

Thanks to Freaky Ogre for starting us off :) There are some lovely sounding meals on here this week. I feel a bit :o at the plain & simple stuff that I'm dolloping up but, like Kadeeae I'm struggling with the weather (no sign of any ash here either btw ;)) and keeping to my rule of one meal cooked for all 6 of us. I refuse point blank to make more than one meal for any of the slightly fussy (DD & DS2) eaters :p:p

CCP Am making your butternut squash & spinach quiche for tomorrow's meal - can't wait!

    Here goes anyway:

Monday - Scrambled Herby Eggs & Beans on Toast

Tuesday - Chilli, Rice & Garlic Bread

Wednesday - Cheese & Vegetable Flan (using bought puff pastry, red peppers, courgettes, cream cheese with herbs & garlic and some mozarella) Wedges & Salad/Beans

Thursday - Twice Baked Potatoes or Baked Potatoes with Tuna or Cheese and Carrot & Sultana Salad

Friday - Cooked Meat, Caribbean Red Rice, Salad & Garlic Bread

Saturday - Falafel in Pittas with Salads

Sunday - Gammon, New Potatoes, Peas, Green Beans & Parsley Sauce or Gravy (for the parsley sauce haters!)

Have a good weeks cooking everyone :D
