Can lettings agents or landlord actually do anything? Old flat i was in the people upstairs would run their washing machine through the night, constantly threw fag butts and rubbish into my patio and my neighbours patio and i would say in the last 2 months i was there they played gabba full blast almost every week night until the early hours. Constantly loads of people round and running about (on laminate flooring!). Letting agents and landlord said not their problem as they didn't lease that flat. I couldn't even complain to the people as it was a weird block so not easy to work out which flat number it was, and i had no access to their main block door. Got nowhere with the council (morons at Tower Hamlets) and in the end i just got prescription sleeping pills then moved out.

She's a mentalist and always will be. You won't get any peace until you move. Start looking for somewhere else to go now for when you're agreement comes to an end.

I agree with the above; if you're living with lousy neighbours, you're probably best just moving to another flat - as much of a pain as that sounds.

I've found that part of the apartment lifestyle is having a tolerence for your neighbours above, below, or to the side of you - providing it's not unreasonable. No flat I've been in; even with solid concrete floors/ceilings - can drown out everything. This tolerence works both ways. It has to - it's part of real life to make a little noise every so often - but not everyone can relate to this.

Make sure you throw a stomping party the night before you leave.
