Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

excellent idea martin! i think that its a positive way to bring inspiration to the masses. debt can be a lonely thing and for those that dont have access to the internet, often the shelves of a bookshop or library can bring information to those that really need it. a book would show the many different ways the dfw's use to bring their debt down. a fabulous idea...bring it on!

I think it's a great idea too, when we finally faced our debt the first thing I did was go to the library to find books on personal finance/debt and found Martin's book there that led me to this website and the rest is history!

Yes but would he have a big shiny £2 coin emblem or would it be a tiny little 1p coin?

    I agree!

But an idea to get people into the DFW way, at the very least the book should be made available in libraries only to start with, thus contributing to all DFWs No Spend Days!!

Maybe we could all contribute to a foreword for the book praising Martin!

Very glad you like the idea. And frankly at the moment I've no idea how it'll work - though i will want some of the humour of these boards in - maybe we'll even have a

    Seeing the funny side chapter.

    This is how it works.

Publisher have indicated they want the book.

Now we negotiate - I want as much money as possible (its all going to the charity of course) but want to ensure we keep the price down. Once that's signed, we will get a compiler - who will go through the boards much like happened with OS, to compile the interested stuff.

Then it's put together with the debt stuff from the MD and comes together for me to edit and work through.

We're probably talking a release in Autumn 2007! (yes i know takes a long time) but we'll get there :)
