OK guys - I've decided to start an official suggestions for DFW book thread. Which i will write after this - I think it may help the compiler.

  • I can give you a view from the 'Dark Side' ! :D
  • Martin - SS for compiler? :D

Hope you don't mind me suggesting this SS. Like sophiesmum, I too am guilty of 'lurking' on your thread. Also, I too am a bit shy:o of posting there. I think you have a great sense of humour, which after all is just what we all need with this DFW business. If you can't laugh you'd cry sometimes. I think you'd make a great addition to Martin's compilers team. How about it SS, and Martin?

Well to be honest I have someone lined up for the compiling - its a professional journalists job - but the SS thread could definitely be included :).

I think it really good to hear some humour in the book ( and on here, thanks SS) because new recruits/converts might think its all doom & gloom post lightbulb moment, whereas actually its the first step away from the dark side. Some newbies sound really sad & desperate when they first find DFW but we usually bully, slap, tickle & cuddle them to a brighter place.

I also think that CAB, benefits agency, RSLs etc should give the books away free. It wouldn't cost them that much for all the good that it could do.

    Spread the word!!!!

  • Martin- I think you are WONDERFUL!!!! MSE has been a brilliant support and I want to say a huge THANK YOU for getting this off the ground. I will be first in the queue to [STRIKE]borrow[/STRIKE] buy your book when it comes out. Like SS, I will still need MSE beyond 2007 unless a miracle happens but I feel able to cope because of MSE. :kisses2:
