FLIGHT DISRUPTIONS: Volcano ash from Iceland hits UK flight plans

As far as flights go when the flights restart people who have flights booked to travel on that day will will fly as normal and any remaining seats will be filled with stranded passengers. Its not their fault.Unless airlines can come up with extra planes from somewhere.
El AL have already said they will run extra planes on the Tel Aviv to London route as soon as the airspace opens.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. No. It goes both ways. I have not had a holiday in a while and this is the ONLY time I could have had one before my baby is due (then god knows when I'll get time off). I'm not going to 'think' before I complain about not going on holiday. I worked bloody hard and deserved this holiday and i'm !!!!ed off I won't get to go on it.
I'm sure the thousands of people stranded around the world trying to get home and spending money they can't afford feel your pain! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi -
Am I entitled to accomodation/food costs if I'm flying from Mumbai to London?
I have a return ticket, so obviously left from the EU, but I'm not sure if I'm entitled to the costs since I'm now flying with a non-EU company to the EU?
And if I am entitled to this, is it guaranteeD?
Thanks0 -

Don't think so, unless the airline makes a goodwill gesture. You are flying with a non EU airline from outside the EU.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Wow I feel so lucky reading about some of the people stuck around the world my sympathies to all. We booked our first big holiday to Egypt from London. Had to get a 9 hour train down to London from Aberdeen. Luckily we were able to stay with relatives. Re booked for Tomorrow thinking it would definately be going, now looks like we are heading home on the train again. Hope insurance and tour company pays out (atol protected as per mse advice). Hugs to everyone stuck away from home

I can fully understand why your fed up, I've lost 2 holidays in the space of a month, the 1st one because my daughter got chicken pox 48 hrs before we were due ot fly, and my trip on Fri to Cuba which was alate birthdasy present,
Your not the first person not to go, a lot of people are stuck in places with airlines denyng responsibility, not knowing when their get back, what will happen about work, will they get paid, will they have to claim, sme having to pay their own meals, and accomodation, so personally i think it should be a lot less of me me me, but be grateful that your not one of the people stranded,
Yes I'm annoyed with my holdiay arrangements, The 1st covered Easter when was going with dd, yes I'll get the money back, but I can't afford school holiday prices for summer or Oct, shes got to wait till next Easter, bit unfair foe a 7 yr old child, again my trip to Cuba, I can't afford to go this year as the prices will of shot up, yes I've had a moan who hasn't, I deserve a holiday the same as thousands of others, but our thoughts and concerns should be with those stranded.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi All,
4 Adults and 3 under 5's stuck in Barcelona. Were due to fly Easyjet to Luton at 1400 today, but obviously not going to happen.
The Question I have is that Easyjet have offered us to Refund or Rebook. If I choose to rebook, and then make alternative arrangements (train/car/boat), then am I right in thinking that that is my tough luck unless my rebooked flight is also cancelled?
I strongly suspect that if I choose to take Easyjets next flight (which is next Friday) then I have to stick to my choice and just sit it out.
We have not even bothered going to the Airport as per Easyjet.com and will submit a claim later.
Also - is anybody anxious about their Employers reaction?? A few of us are worried we might be in deep water when we return, espcially if this drags on more than a few more days.
Thanks in advance...0
