Do you pee in your garden shed?
Don't expect you do if you're a woman - women can last longer without going - but for a man when he needs to answer a call of nature whilst gardening and his boots are muddy its often more convenient to use a suitable container than go back to house - especially if only an indoor loo.
I imagine that many allotment holders must adopt similar policy.
After my grandfather died, I found a couple of jars of urine in his shed that he had failed to empty.
But men, don't feel guilty about doing this. I have good news. I read that male urine is of particular benefit to the compost heap. So there you are, relief, all round.

There used to be a gardener on tv, Bob Flowerdew, he was an organic gardener and I remember him saying that urine was good for the garden, put on compost heaps.

I've never felt guilty about it. We've had several threads about peeing in the garden.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

As soon as the leaves get back on the trees in the lane, I'll pee anywhere......0

Are you sure about that bit? I've always considered it's the other way round - women are ALWAYS going to the loo. I understand they have smaller bladders 'cos of all that baby-making equipment they've got stashed away inside. We men have the luxury of extra space.
Of course it's different once you're past a certain age - when the male prostate gland starts interfering and giving older men a more frequent urge to go. But blokes below 50/55 ish should be able to last a lot longer than the ladies... (assuming they don't drink too many pints)
Sorry, this is a bit off-topic!0 -
staying off topic, in our household I can easily last longer before having a wee than my husband, he will pee 3 times to my 1. I think laydees have stronger bladders because of the baby making equipment cos if they're growing a baby the bladder has to be stronger to contend with baby pressing against it. Just my view though, but everyone is unique.
On topic, Ive also heard that male urine is superb for getting a compost heap started, I shall be getting Mr WT to pee on ours in the near future!0 -
Its good for compost, done see a problem as long as you dont miss0

wow, cos wellies are really difficult to remove aren't they?0

What's removing wellies got to do with peeing in the garden to fertilise it and to improve the compost heap?
Unless you are worried about peeing in your wellies.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
the OP said it was for convenience
not for the good of the compost heap
either way, i'm with Kaya
we have evolved a long way, seems not as far as i would have hoped0 -
On another tack, using a container in the shed, or peeing straight onto the compost heap may shows an environmental desire to reduce the amount of drinking water wasted flushing the loo.
Not sure that completing a nutrient cycle within your garden and saving on water use is an evolutionary step backwards. Maybe oneday we'll all come out of the closet!0
