Hi Mum2one
They paid me today my normal payment minus £1 and another payment of £35. Totally random!
Guilty confession time.Bought a curry box for 2 reduced from waitrose. Thought I would freeze half. Just taken it from the box and it all in one cooking dish...bit like a flower type arrangement. Oh dear...shall have to scoff the lot.
Just seen who much you've paid back in 2010 Mum2one. Go you!
Glad you got the money ok, hope the curry went well, mouth watering!.
At least the thought was there re freezeing half!!
Yes its been a good payoff, but slowing down now......booh..... but every pound one less to find. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Had a phone call from DS. He is safely in IOW with Granny. Was very excited about the catamarang!
My lovely Mum gave me £50 to 'treat myself' when I dropped off DS earlier in the week. As the house is beginning to get sorted I thought I would get some new curtains/lampshades etc. We have been here 6 and half years and haven't had anything new really. My current thinking (which could change in the blink of an eye!) is to stay put, hold on with gritted teeth through the recession and see what comes out the other side. With a very long term plan to pay back the debts then the mortgage and see what the state of affairs is in the future. DS goes into year 5 next year so have to start thinking about secondarys. Can someone tell me when I became a grown up and had to worry about such things.
Anyway the point of my little ramble was this. In wilkos today, touching fabrics, smoothing cushions, looking at artificial flowers (at that point I knew it had all gone too far!!) Anyway get to the till with my new lampshade (£6) chocolate brown cylinder if anyone is remotely interested and on the till next to me was a lady.
Now I know you shouldn't judge people by appearances but she looked a bit ...... well rough. Couple of toddlers at her feet and a trolley full to bursting.
I kind of recognised that 'Oh my god I'm spending a fortune frenzy' that was washing over her. She was gabbling like mad, nervously giggling when the till lady said something was nice. By the time I had paid her subtotal was £150 with almost half a trolley to go full of bath mats, towels, knick nacks and yes artificial flowers.
I almost wanted to say to her 'Do you know how much you are spending' of course I didn't and maybe she had plenty of cash, but I just thought oh oh you'll regret that lot when you get it home.
What a ramble!! I suppose it just reminded me of what I used to be like (bar the artificial flowers!) I now enjoy taking time to look for one particular thing rather than just filling my trolley with an instant makeover.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Ok I am year older than you and my DD is younger than your DS but still - SNAP!!!
Found you. You are doing so well. Are you keeping tabs on your spending against your budget? I got tired on my spreadsheets and found THIS I will start using it properly when I start my new job in November.
You must come back to visit before I move, I have loads of gardening books you might want to take off my hands."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
