Good day today. I went and spent my birthday money!. I thought, momentarily about chucking it at the debt but that thought passed!

Good for you, that money was meant for you, so glad u enjoyed it. x
Am now the proud owner of 2 new trees. Both bargains-truely. Googled them both when i got home and one was selling for around £40-£45 and I got it for £20 the other selling for around £25-£30 and I got it for £16.

Why am I buying tree's??? Well because I have realised that moving is almost an impossibility for at least the next 6/7 years and I might as well try and get some privacy/screening to my garden. There. That's my justification and I'm sticking to it!!

If anyone is remotely interested I got a Malus 'Profusion Improved' Whopper about 6/7ft and a prunus tribola...both pretty blossomy trees.

And more compost and a big pot but all from bday money so not too bad.

All bday money gone so, back to the leash!

Don't have green fingers, but sounds lovely,u did well with the spending.
I have an elderly neighbour who we visit occasionally. Came up with a cunning plan. She gives me her lawnmower, and I cut her grass. Sounds a good deal all round. Also she will be babysitting for DS this Tuesday and I will weed her front garden at some point this week. I love this kind of bartering, so civilised and works for everyone.

Thats a brilliant idea, its a trade off of skills, my daughters best friend, both the familes get on brilliantly, she does any sewing for me, we've both had the kids for sleepovers, and I've had appointments shes had dd, I've done the same, think more people should do bartering and trade offs, make life a lot easier.

So where am I going on Tuesday I hear you all cry? Hot date?

I was getting exicted for you then!!

    Unfortunately not.

I am joining the local gardening society..which makes me sound soooooo blimmin old. I rang for an allotment a week or so ago and the lady on phone told me about it. She said she was 40 and they were trying to get more youngsters (ha) on board. I will go and see what it is all about. Might meet a rich old landowner...preferably who likes the larger lady and has a dodgy heart!! ;)

Favour now - if he's got a brother send him in my direction!
Arranged a meeting with one of the girls off the AF thread for next Saturday morning so looking forward to that too.

And the smoking is going great thanks-it's the giving up smoking I'm having problems with.;) Might make a doc's appointment soon and ask for champix which is supposed to be pretty good.

Ok what a ramble and not a debt payment in sight.

Debt payment, with what you have achieved, I'm sure one day without a debt payment won't break the bank.

Sounds like fun, hope you have a gd time nxt Sat, when dd and I went to Blackpool last yr, we met one of the ladies of the thread and her grandson, shes brilliant, felt like I'd know her for years, and dd loved her dgs, we went out for some day trips, sometimes friendships come from the most oddest of situations, xx

Ok I will look for elderly twins!

Got lots of whoopsies-nan breads, tea cakes, rolls etc which may well ruin my good news of the day which is that I got in some trousers that I haven't been able to get into for some time! I could get IN to them a little while back, but they weren't safe to wear for fear of ripping the bulging seams. Today I actually wore them for work.

All Carbs are all safely in the freezer for now at least.

    Just checked online banking

Think the post payday 'Wahey lets spend' had better stop right now. Maybe paying the birthday cheque for £60 in before I spent it may of helped!

So back to the monotony of looking after the pennies. (say's she who spends at least £5 a day on cancer sticks) Ah well, it's been a good weekend-back to reality.

    £1 paid to Halifax CC.

Ah and am now proud owner of the lawnmower. Very funky yellow one. Weeded her front garden well some of it, so can have a free evenings babysitting tomorow!

Well the evening didn't go to plan:mad:

Elderly neighbour didn't show at 7pm as arranged, went and knocked, no answer, She has a habit of falling asleep in her chair as you do. So resigned myself to that. Ate the lovely mackerel salad I had made for her and decieded to take DS with me.

I was expecting about 15/20 people but there was about 100, mostly the older variety but a few young uns' too. Two very fit young men, sat together, probably gay....why is life so unfair!!

We only stayed for half of it. DS likes a potter in the garden as much as me but was pushing his concentration not to mention his bed time. Got seeds for a seed trial/competition (Sunflowers and tomatoes) and did the paperwork to join £8 for the year so not bad.

Got home to find a note from elderly neighbour (EN) and she had missed her bus home, next bus late and was very very sorry. One of those things that can't be helped I suppose.

Managed to actually hand in a receipt for expenses today-normally lose them and never bother, naughty I know and something that has to change. Made pizzas with a group of kids and parents today so free lunch for me ;)

6 Months alcohol free for me today. Never thought I would be saying that, but then again I never thought I would be joining a gardening club either!

Feeling like life is on the up.

    Skint again!!

    How did that happen????

DS needed new school trousers AGAIN, luckily Tesco's had 25% off clothes so got him a t shirt too. I need some new clothes but they will have to wait. Paid for the car tax and got my council tax backdated a few extra weeks but not as far back as I wanted. Told them about my extra tax credits so that means that will stop now.

    Pants eh?

Got my mobile bill-not long until I can get rid of that contract and go PAYG.

I have filled my petrol claims in for this week, not going to pay out a single penny for doing my job any more.

Paid the deposit for a week away next bank holiday ( Mum paid the balance-Thanks Mum x)

    So I suppose that's why I'm skint.

Going to be a very low key/low cost bank holiday here that's for sure. Gardening when it's nice-Ironing when it's not. Rock and Roll!
