hmmmm just thiking im sure we cant all be getting investigated at the same time en mass so to speak it must just be folks with either low wages or certain changes that have got them.

i know the worrying thing is that all though we may have told them of changes judging be recent history that doesnt stop them saying we have been overpaid thats what worries me.:(

ok just spoke to a lovely man called russell at the tax credits office - he said because so many people call them and renew over the telephone they are trying to set up a specific renewals service. no one is under any kind of investigation its a pilot to see what sort of response this new 'team' will get so they can work out how to target the renewals in the future because its such a major task for them.

Hope that puts some minds at rest - it certainly does mine lol

Thats a great help to put these minds at rest, although having been through 2 investigations already this year another one would not of hurt, seems a waste of resources really. I have nothing to hide mind you and they have found nothing that they wanted to find.
When I get my renewal pack I will ring them and I will still post on here so that people can see if they get something like this in future.

    Thanks

    Thanks Monica for info.

What bothers me is why didn't they just wait for the annual review pack to get sent to everyone and accompany a letter with the number to call to a selective few. Why would you send the letter prior to sending the pack? It is just going to worry people whilst they wait for the pack.

yeah its not been done well has it. i asked if i was in trouble and if he could tell me why because a) id called on sunday with an update of circumstances b)ive got a payment going in tomorrow as a result of these changes and c)the lady checked all my income from last year and my estimate for this year so i know full well the info they have is correct. he put me on hold to make sure that my payment for tomorrow is correct (which it is woohoo!) and then told me the spiel about the renewal.

Like i say couldve been done a bit better in my opinion but at least we can all sleep and not expect a call from the fraud squad lol.

wish the person I spoke to told me this. The person I spoke to could only tell me a letter had been sent to me but didnt know what it was about and tried to put me through to number on letter which was just ringing. Just want the forms now to get it over and done with!
