Girls - can I just ask a quick question?

I am horribly bloated at the moment..I mean I look about 6 months preggo already! I'm having trouble doing up any of my jeans, and have to sit with them unbuttoned all day.

I'm sure bloating is normal in early preg (just over 7 weeks), but does it go down again, or should I just expect for my windy bulge to be replaced by a baby one eventually?

Also is there anything I can do to help...peppermint tea etc?

    Thank you :)

It goes down again.. mine tends to subside around 12-14 weeks-ish

it won't just be wind it will be fluid as well.. if you are in pain with it I highly recommend settlers windeze.. hey are fabulous.. peppermint tea gives the .. erm.. an urgent need to use the lavatory frequently.. so might be best avoided..

thanks pigpen. it is quite painful at times..thought I was going to pass out on the train homeyesterday but it was particularly stuffy and crowded in there..I was ok when I got home.

I'm sure it's just digestion slowing down and stuff. I'll try windeze..they're ok to take when preg I guess?

Nothing seems to fit me at the moment from the belly down!

Really feel for u ladies suffering with spd, my doc thinks I am suffering from it but said the pain could also be from my car accident last year as my pelvis/ back was injured then, oh and also the time I fell over in the shower, twice! I've just been using heat pads and taking occasional painkillers, think my pain is nowhere as severe as some of yours. Re: the Tens machines in Lloyds, my dad has one for pain relief and finds it really good, think his was about £10.

Pigpen: your bound to start worrying, you have a lot on your plate as u already have a big family, you have provided me and many others with great advise through your experience, I am sure you will be fine, it would be weird if you didn't panic!

Well the trustee board at my work have made me very emotional: they have offered to pay £400 towards antenatal classes for me as I am in the wrong postcode so would have to pay. I was going to leave it as I couldn't afford it but they said they will give me a cheque this week and have also written to local mp to complain about if I lived 10 miles down the road I would get the classes free. :)

Absolutely fine.. it is the same stuff as in infacol and works on the digestive tract and is not absorbed at al.

I only got this in February last year.. insurance jobby after the kitchen fire.. it has a 3 year warranty and I extended it.. but do i know where the policy is.. of course not!!

:rotfl: You use the famous 'Just put it down somewhere' filing system too then :rotfl:

If it was comet you can just ring them up and they can find the policy on their system. I'd imagine most places are the same.

    Hello

My spd/pgp whatever they call it these days has been alot better this last week not that I want to jinx myself but physio did say between 26-28wks it would either get better or hell of alot worse.

Had day off today so husband and I went for lunch at frankie and benny was nice to get out starters were lovely but main was not so great.

Went to a bedroom showroom as we want fitted wardrobes putting into the 2 alcoves in our bedroom/dressing room and I thought about £1000 and husband thought about £2000 so we assumed somewhere in the middle well with 25% off for the 2 (they are 6ft wide each so 3 door wardrobes) will be £2500!!!!!!! we have since come home found some other companies and waiting for call backs for some quotes and also some people at work knew some independant carpenters so going to get loads quotes and see what we find.

my blooming marvellous order all 4 items cancelled out of stock and sent me 4 sepearte emails to tell me!

i'm 28 weeks today, had pain since 21 weeks, is actually the most horrible thing i've ever had wrong with me. At night I wake up every time i turn over and then usually can't get back to sleep until my next lot of painkillers have been taken. Am on paracetamol and codiene regularly so hoping a TENS might reduce the number of these I have to take as obv don't like taking them but the alternative seems to be lying on the floor crying. Keep telling myself there's only 12 weeks left although am dreading going overdue as was 8 days late with DS.

Snap. I'm a week ahead of you but started at 21 weeks too, and I absolutely agree it's the most horrible thing I've ever had either. I went 17 days over with DS so really hoping this one doesn't get too comfortable!
    Things I've found help:
    • tying legs together to sleep - keeps pelvis stable
    • ice pack on your bits, numbs it if nothing else
    • support belt - get one from your physio
    • LOTS of rest
    • pacing yourself and being incredibly selfish with what you will or won't do
    • baths help me but I struggle when the pain's really bad to get out of them on my own
    • chiropractor has been great although quite expensive
    • the odd glass of wine
Have you visited the pelvic partnership website too, that's quite useful. Let me know how the TENs machine is. I've realised there's a Lloyds just round the corner from me, doh. Will still see if the mw has one knocking about though :money:

I had this too, and like Pigpen it went about 12-14 weeks. I actually found peppermint tea really helpful. Make sure you really keep an eye on the amount of fibre you're eating, museli always seems to get me moving. And it should go down before the bump comes out, just! All my early belly photos don't actually have a baby belly in them (it was all bloating caused by poo! :o)

Remember, this is the time of our lives, ladies :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
