    ooooh shiney new thread!!

Re: decorating nurseries, we are turning our spare room into the nursery but are not decorating. Our landlord is quite strict, upstairs is cream carpets and cream walls, and downstairs is laminate floors and cream walls. Bubs room will remain cream, but we are going to choose a 'jazzy' looking rug to cover the cream carpet, incase anything gets spilled, and also to make it more of a childs room. We have got a cot in there now (given to us FREE) that isnt bad, and a changing unit (also FREE!) which I like the solid unit but the shelves let it down! So I might replace the shelves, or get some type of wicker storage baskets for the shelves. Otherwise, think I will just get some nice cot bedding, and put afew teddies here and there. We are looking into buying our own place anyway so it seems pointless painting a room that we have to paint cream again when we leave!

    ( not that I'm 40 yet!!)

To those with low iron levels ..have you carried on taking folic acid or other supplements during your pregnancy so far ? I know now they just say take folic acid for the first 12 weeks but I took pr3gnacare plus with omega 3 all the way through my pregnancy and was thinking of doing the same this time. I was told i had brilliant levels and I didnt get tired - I swear it was the tablets but who knows! Just wondered what everyone else was doing

I am the same as you Suzy, I take Sanatogen for 'mums to be' with added omega free. I find I do generally feel better, people say I look healthier than I ever have (despite my horrible pregnancy spots!) my levels are all perfect when I am tested, its just my asthma that lets me down. My blood pressure stays low, and my MW said my iron level are perfect (pre-pregnancy I had to take iron tablets as I get very aneamic and now I just take my pregnancy vits!)

Planning on taking them the WHOOOOOOOOOOOLE way through pregnancy (now almost 23 weeks) and might carry on taking them if I BF bubs.

Can anyone recommend antenatal classes at all? I looked into enrolling for them last night, and they go for around 30-40 hours (in evening classes) they cost between £8-£15 per hour, I cannot afford this at all, I was sure the NHS offered some sort of classes for free? Or is nothing free these days??!! lol

re- low iron, I suffer from aneamia periodically as I'm veggie and if I don't keep it in check then I feel really tired etc. However in pregnancy have been fine. I just eat a fortified cereal for breakfast (bran flakes are good, but most cereal has added iron) and try and keep my Vit C levels up.

When my aneamia has been bad iron tablets are next to useless as they take so long to be fully absorbed into the body, whereas spatone and floradix are much more easily absorbed. HTH.

    Good Morning All

Thought you were all running off to try and escape me...

I am sadly quite chuffed this morning because a. I seem to have an intelligent postman (who I have met face to face) who was delivering a recorded item for me today, knows im preggers and therefore generally in bed when he comes round, so instead of giving me one of those pants calling cards, He's signed for it, and written me a little note to say "Hope you're getting lots of rest before baby arrives. Signed for this for you, hope thats ok, didnt want you have to trapse all the way to sorting office when it fits through your letter box! From the Postie"

That man as just become my god LOL

And b. because I've been delivered my lovely gift from a lovely lady to perk me up in pregnancy. Thanks hun xx

RE Iron levels - Mine came back as ok (i think she didnt point out they were low). All I've been doing is continue on pregnancy supplements (when I can face swallowing them - size of piggin' horse tranquilisers!), eating broccoli with pretty much every meal, eating sweet potatoes (more vit c than oranges), and drinking oj.....

Been feeling really dehydrated past few days, so need to get drinking LOL
Woke up last night at 3am with heartburn, was horrid, think I may have to buy some gaviscon liquid.... but for the time being i have cold milk and milkshake :)

The midwife phoned me this morning with my bloods results. My iron is at 10.9 and she recommended I take Spatone. I've heard it's not very tasty!! What do you reckon?
Hope everyone has a lovely day, the sun is shining :)
    Saz xxx

It makes orange juice taste like it has had coins in the bottom of it imo.

It's better that way than on its own and you don't get constipation and black poo like you do with the tablets (sorry, tmi!)

Well I went to the doctors and heard baby's heartbeat :D doctor was very nice, said if I don't feel any better and am still worried about not feeling movements in leiu of my blood results arriving to come back and he will listen again and ask the hospital to arrange me a scan for reassurance because I must be worried. But my 20 week scan is next thursday so I'd feel a bit cheeky having another one!

Bless him, he said that if he was pregnant he'd be in the surgery every 5 minutes :D

Oooh new thread! Might make it easier to keep track :o

Tesco had some on buy one get one free, I used Tesco cellular blankets with the others and they're all OK, they wash quite well.

    I know, was pretty chuffed.
Will have to stick a post it note about for him tomorrow or something to say thanks.

Need to think of something to do with my day. I'm bored already LOL

As per nursery decoration in rented acc'. We're in rented but its from a friend so he's keep happy for us to paint, but could people just use wall hangings to give room some personality?
