Whoa, please. I just need to know from someone who does know if I should push this, even take it to small claims court. Bearing in mind I'm pretty mad about this, if I'm gonna have to slave at legal stuff on a 'you might win'. I don't understand why the shop didn't exchange the shoes for a different pair the same size?! Surely they would send the shoes back to the suppliers. Just some informed help please.0

McK.Did you miss the bit where the OP said in post #1 that the shoes still fitted!..0
-
Actually that decision is mine I know. What I need to know is if I have a case, is there some legislation on childrens shoes? Am I being too thrifty and just buy new ones?0
-
If these shoes fit your 2 year old before christmas, believe me they will not fit her now. childrens feet grow at an alarming rate = youre talking nearly four months, !!!!!!.
Legally, after 4 months you dont have a leg to stand on = so to speak
Again, please show us something legal to back your words. In post #1 it clearly says the shoes still fit?0 -
You dont need anything legal, shoes that really fit a 2 year old will not fit her 4 months later, they must have been too big to start with, stands to reason doesnt it, if you add a bit of common sense. And before you ask if i have had experience of this yes, i have. I brought up 2 kids and 4 grandchildren.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
yeah, I have to agree with McNeff, no way do shoes fit a 2 year old for over 3 months!!!!
and by the way if they have offered to repair them that's all they have to do...0 -
45 quid for a one year old's shoes? Especially ones that were never going to get much use before she grows out of them. No wonder you want your money back! I'd want more than poxy velcro on a 45 quid pair of kids' shoes. Like swarovski crystals. Or gold."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

OP, if the shop offered a repair, that is acceptable. They could offer to replace as well but as they don't have the same shoes in stock it would not be possible to do this as a straight exchange. They could also offer you a refund but only partial taking into account how much time you have had the shoes and wear and tear.0
