Things just dont seem to be going in the right direction!!!

Just when I thought things were going well, CC havent taken my last payment and my balance has now gone up by £127.81 and minimum payment for end of May is £267.19!!!!!

I paid £150 on 30th April which hasnt gone through (bank holiday) and now I'm stupidly worried that this payment has disappeared and I'm going to get deeper and deeper into trouble because there is no way on earth I can pay that minimum payment! Plus, I dont want my balance going up!!! I want it DOWN!!!!

I have emailed them with reference numbers for my payments and they had better sort it because in my opinion its not fair. Granted, I was late with the minimum payment and it was a bank holiday etc etc but there is no need to not accept my payment!

Have also got a couple of phone numbers so going to call them too. I finish work at 2pm today as have to go to hospital for tests so I could really do without this today

Credit card has all been sorted out now which is a relief, that really had me panicking!!!

I'm now aiming to get money together to pay for my minimum payment on time this month so that as of June I can pay on time and then whatever money I have left at the end can go towards extra payments - I'm feeling very positive right now

I'm going to go to the bank at lunch time and print off ALL the payments my dad has given me over the years as I want to see if I can arrange to start paying him back. I imagine it will be a fairly high figure but he's given me 10 years to pay it back as he wants the money by the time he retires but has also stressed that he wants me paying CC and overdraft first but I want to give him a token monthly payment, no matter how small I know he will appreciate it

Has been a nice weekend apart from a drunken domestic with the OH Saturday but thats all sorted and forgotten now so can safely move on

I got a figure for my dad, and he knocked it down by about £2.5k as hes convinced he isnt that fussed. So the total I owe him now is £12k in 10 years. But hes said not to sort out a repayment plan until credit card etc has been paid.

Good news with ebaying my phone, already at £24 with 10/11 hours to go so hopefully get a nice little profit out of that!

Went and visited my dad saturday, OH paid for our boat across and also gave me £10 to pay for parking (even though the agreement was he paid for ferry and I paid for parking) so quite confused as to what happened there but not going to argue!

We started talking about a holiday late last night, we've wanted to go to Barcelona for ages now and thinking of going September for week so started having a look. I got bored slightly so we decided to just mess around and have a play with some 'dream' places and we came across the Maldives...

We joked that it would be nice to go over New Years for a week or so and when we did a quote it wasnt really that expensive so started to really consider it. But it would mean we'd have to save £3k between us by September which wont happen. But... we've decided that we shall go for a long weekend / cheap week in Barcelona this year, and save up and do Maldives next New Years!!!!!!!

As its my birthday 27th Dec he suggested flying out late christmas day so I wake up in the Maldives on my birthday (as its more or less 2 days travel) and that would just be sooooooooo sweet! I know its not for another 18 months or so but I am so excited!!!!

Nice result with selling my old mobile on ebay, just got it posted out on my lunch break.

Bad news for the OH though as his contract at work has been dropped and hes been offered a lower position which means hes in a more boring job and has to take a pay cut. Its not a major amount but it was money he could of done with.

So my evening is going to consist of helping him going through his finances to see if he can afford to take this job or if he needs to look for something else.

He isnt very happy though and I wish I had some spare money just to buy him a tiny present to cheer him up

I have a telly / dvd combo which is currently hiding under all my clothes but cash converters wont give me anything for it and I'm not sure what to do to get money for it... Had a look on local gumtree and big posh flat screen tellys are selling for almost nothing so i doubt people will want to pay for an even smaller, non flat-screen so may have to look at taking it to a car boot on Sunday and see what I can get...

Has been a while!

Silly laptop has broken down and in all honesty I dont have time in the evenings to go online as usually I just eat dinner, put a dvd on and sleep! Lazy times but money saving so all good

Good news for OH, 2 days after he got demoted, he got called in and they said they had to fire someone so he automatically got the new job (which was the job he was there for in the first place!) so he took me out to dinner to celebrate which was lovely

We booked a holiday Friday night!!!! My dad agreed to pay for flights if we pay him back end of June and we dont have to pay for our hostel until we arrive. We're going to Barcelona 18th - 25th Sept so 4 months tomorrow. I'm so excited as its my favourite city in the world

Council tax is playing silly sausages and cancelled my direct debits which really confused me but I called them and paid this months payment and all I got left is bank charges which are £29.06 and fingers crossed these will be the last EVER bank charges I will ever have to pay!

Almost due date for the minimum payment on my credit card... OH has said he is going to lend me the money to pay it off which is about £40ish and I will pay him back on my payday. I really didnt want to go into the new month owing new people money but I really need this payment so will have to be done!

We have our festival in a few weeks so taking some spending money for that but I'm really REALLY going to try and come home with money left over to put towards credit card. Also have my friends wedding and I have to pay for the hotel and getting hair and make up done which is all going to cost so again, June is going to be a really tight month with no further luxuries!!!

Lets see how that goes though!

But for now... 11 days until pay day - 12 days and its all gone again!

Bad day today. My mind is confused and I have seemed to lost money. Not lost as it fell out of my pocket but lost as in I have spent it but I really dont know where...

its my own fault because I had cash to pay in but kept forgetting to go to bank and put it somewhere safe so I had it in my purse just to spend. Was only on impulse food purchases but still, should have been more careful.

This means in order for me to make my minimum payment on time for the first time in almost a year (a little personal challenge for me this month) means borrowing a large chunk of it from my dad and paying him back when the odd bits of money come in.

Its really hit me quite hard as i was feeling quite positive about the whole thing and this has just made me realise that I really am not doing too well

But, I guess things like this have to happen in order to learn from them.

So, I'm going to spend the next hour or so (or until my boss gets back to the office!) making a plan of attack for next month and making sure its realistic enough for me to stick to.

This HAS to change dammit!

I know bank charges can be a nightmare. Last year in one month mine were £105 :eek: it seems like your getting on track then wham bank charges to pay.

Im sure with a bit of planning everything will come together

Ok, what is going on?!

Yesterday, I had £50ish in my account, today I have over £400...

My dad transferred across £90 for me for my credit card payment, £330ish was processed on my card for council tax on monday so in theory I should only have £140ish...

So, it looks like the council tax payment hasnt been processed! Even though I got confirmation that the payment went through and the money was shown as taken from my account (with money still in my account so I know it wasnt a case of not enough funds!)

Argh!!! I've seriously had enough of this money confusion!

And to top it all off, came home from work yesterday and 2 of our bunnies had been taken by foxes. Great. Just great!

So, off to the bank again this lunchtime to investigate.

I swear nothing better not had gone wrong because that is simply not fair! I paid council tax and it went through and I even got an authorisation number!

Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK. Rant over, better get on with some work now

Baby Steps

I know its not an amazing situation but for the first time in such a long time I am happy

Bank charges have gone out of my account, credit card was paid on time and I still have money in my account!!!! Granted, its only £4 and we have literally buttons to live off until Friday (payday) but I cant begin to explain how good it feels!!!!

To make things even better, for the first time in almost a year, my credit card is actually UNDER its limit Instead of being £100 or so pound over and having to pay charges, I am now £80 under the limit, so fingers crossed, no more charges for being over the limit and because I managed to get it paid on time this month, I can manage to make substantial payments ontime so no more fee's for late payments!

Woohoo!!!

I know need to sit down at lunchtime and prepare a budget for next month as we are going to festival and a wedding over the next couple of weeks and I'm going clothes shopping this weekend

Damn womanly hormones lol!

Not only do I generally feel like poo poo, I have really bad sunburn on my back and shoulders which is making life that little bit more uncomfortable. I havent been able to concentrate on work and I hate when that happensl.

I spent a lot of the day doing my monthly figures (again!) and I've done the maths and as of July / August, with EVERYTHING going out (including credit card payments, petrol, allocated food money) I should have about £360 a month left over!

This is amazing but wont last forever as I'm living in a shared house so everything is split 4 ways so much cheaper. I'm hoping to stay here until the new year which will mean around 5-6 months of this extra money.

Thing is, I dont know what to do with it all!

We have a holiday booked for September that we need to pay for and have spending money for, obviously I have the credit card to shift (although now I am paying more than minimum) and I also want some money in my account so when the time does come to move out, I will be able to afford the deposit on my new place.

I know my mind is all over the place today so not really the best time to make decisions with regards to money but I'm just feeling a bit meh about it all.

The thing is, I say I will have this amount left over a month but in all honesty, it will go somewhere, I just dont know where! Maybe the odd dinner out here and there, a pretty candle in a shop.

I've decided to only take cash out for food and then leave my bank card somewhere at home to avoid impulse spending (1st weekend after payday is always the time!)

I just hope I can start to make more of a difference because all I keep thinking about are the little things like being able to go out for dinner, do girly shopping, get my hair cut!!!!! (in real desperate need for it soon!) afford holidays, and eventually get a mortgage.

I count myself lucky that I am in a good situation at the moment with my living expenses but I just want to make the most out of it as it wont be this easy for long...

Argh, 15 minutes and I get to go home. At last! All I want to do is cover myself in aloe vera gel, lie in bed with lots of bad food and watch a chick flick.

In fact... that is exactly what I'm going to do (after Asda and cleaning the bunnies out)

Poor OH has a fun night planned tonight...
