donny-gal have you tried sugar soap. We used gallons of it in our last house and it removed almost everything from nicotine stains to wallpaper paste. Wasn't any good for the cork tiles they had stuck on the bathroom wall with araldite though:rotfl:

    Morning all

Welcome back Diva! Take it easy!

Another beautiful day here, although I'm stuck in the office - boo! :(. I can't even think of an excuse to pop out anywhere, plus I have a mound of paperwork to do before my darling work children come back from their work placements next week. Also there is no-one here to answer the phone if I did go out so I'll probably stay in, but will pop out to the park lunchtime.

I walked to work again, but was once again sabotaged by colleague offering lift! I'll need to find a new way to walk that avoids the route he takes cos he takes offence if I say no! :rotfl:

I am contemplating joining the local council gym. We get a reduced rate as although we are not council employees, we do work in a council building so qualify for it (£25/mth instead of £35). But I'm not sure how committed I'll be :rotfl: so I want to see how long I'd be tied in for. I really want to get fit and lose weight so hopefully it wil appeal to me. If it includes classes then I'll be more interested! The gym is situated more or less smack bang between my house and work so 10min walk away. I can walk to it, go before (!!) work or after work, they have parking, it's never that busy..... Any gym bunnies here?

OS wise, made packed lunch this morning - salad with leftover pasta from last night and hard boiled egg. Not sure on dinner tonight, maybe chickpea curry and rice which I have in the freezer. I'm trying to use up stuff in freezer/cupboards rather than go shopping before payday next Weds. There is plenty of food there so won't go hungry! Also I MUST put away my laundry, the pile is getting bigger by the day!

    Have a good day all

  • Good afternoon all!

Good luck with the driving lessons Iowesy, I was twenty-five before I properly mustered the courage to take lessons, not sure six lessons at seventeen counts. I'm nowhere near Kent so can wish you good luck in the knowledge that you won't be veering and swerving anywhere near me! :D

After my out of character housecleaning drive yesterday I wanted to get on with the bathroom and hoovering and then I could officially say the house was completely done, however the sun is beaming in through the window at me tempting me outside

So more cleaning and baking, or should I take my daughter for a picnic on the common? :o:D Gosh all these hard decisions!:rotfl:

    Hiya

Lazy morning or what :D I have S&S'd the kitchen and hoovered bedroom and now am sitting down watching a dvd with a cuppa so that I can post it back to lovefilm and get another one (months free trial :money:) DD's have been singing along to the scissor sisters on the PS2 and now playing in garden.

Going to do the girls some lunch ... eggs and bacon ... and then do a few things off to do list before enjoying the sunshine :)

MSD good to see you back - hope you feel better soon x
TiredMum have pm'd you about fostering
Gemma I would love to plant some veg in tubs - great idea - I've got a couple of bucket type things but I've always thought that I wouldn't be able to plant many because you can't plant them with enough space between them to grow properly? Would they?

:grouphug: to everyone who wants/needs them.

Hope everyone has a FAB day xxx

    Afternoon :D

Very breezy here, pretty cool wind but nice in the sunshine. Have dried 2 more loads of washing so that's now folded and put away. Heading round to my mums when DD is awake. Still not got much house work completed :o Cleaned the kitchen sink so at least it's a start :rotfl:
Tea tonight.......hmmm not sure might do cajun chicken not had it for a while and have the natural yoghurt to use for the sauce.

Diva - really pleased to see you posting. Wishing you a speedy recovery xx

lowesy - good luck with your first driving lesson. Have fun :)

Donny - hope the decorating gets a bit easier.

Feel like I've been on another planet after a few days enforced break and have missed loads of news. Must try and catch up on the threads.

Hugs to those that need them. Have good day OS or not.

    Hi all
Like Csarina I'm also trying to Freegle stuff, I can't believe how daft people are, I offered 3 beige casserole dishes & received an email asking me if they're blue, a shoe cupboard with measurments & got a message asking if it will fit in someones bay window!!!

There's one member on my local group and if they're not posting Wanted ads for stuff then they are asking for everything I put on there. It does make me suspicious of people who are carbooters or just trying to nab things to re-sell. Hmmmm it's awful but I refuse to give to this person as I feel they are just taking the mick half the time. I mean what's the likelihood that this individual has needed every single item I've offered on there <rolls eyes>
