Morning Everyone
MSD - glad to see you posting - take it easy, glad the day case went well for you Molly.
Didn't manage to make it yesterday, things went a little pear shaped. Time to take 2 radiators off the wall to get the paper off behind them and get the wall ready for the plasterer, turned off the radiators valves, DH went and got two caps and put them on with PTFE tape, and one which has been a PITA all the while started leaking while we were draining the second, luckily I heard it, but it did wet the carpet, luckily with clean water. drained the system down, catching the leak and emptying the second radiator, re-did the joint with more PTFE tape, and it still leaked. ended up draining the system again (after erfilling it to pressure) closing all the radiators, and were going to leave it empty and manage without CH, however, with no pressure inthe system no HW, so we filled it to half a bar and it is enough to let the HW work but not the CH and atm all seems OK, but I did find a little water near my bedroom radiator, but it seems to be dry atm.
Then we had to get the wallpaper glue off the walls as the plasterer has said it must be off for the skim coat to work. Tried hot water, stardrops and a scourer, then tried fabric conditioner as per google, it did sort of work but very hard going, so went to the local builders merchant and got something which is supposed to work. That is the job for today, let's hope it works. Anyone knows an easy answer then just let me know!!!!
Brickie was coming to remove the fireplace tonight, but now it is tomorrow:mad::mad:, we were having a nice day out visiting friends tomorrow after everything is done, but that is out of the window now. Hospital this pm for me, funeral Thursday pm, and hopefully will make it away this weekend in the 'van, we should be going up to Ellerton Lakes near Catterick.
OS wise, washing and ironing up to date, eating HM food whatever we have the energy to prepare. Got some bramleys and rhubarb from the market on Friday so will try to make some pies if the wall cleaning goes OK, and DH does it;).

Morning All :hello:,
MSD - glad to have you back!!!! :j We've missed you xx
Gemma - would have to agree that I've only ever had 1 estate agent who didn't make the whole house buying process a total nightmare! Definitely stop the calls during work - it's stressful enough trying to move without your work being disrupted too.
Well people, the bull has officially been grabbed by the horns - first driving lesson in many years for me this afternoon  Just a word of advice - anyone in the Kent area, stop at home off the roads :rotfl: Strangely I'm looking forward to it, which is odd because when I am stressed, one of it's manifests is me having major anxiety being in a car. Guess my stress levels have crept down without me realising - YAY :j
DH's birthday on Saturday and we're having the family over to celebrate. Need to decide what I'm going to do foodwise so any OS and easy ideas would be very much appreciated. Am kind of hoping that the weather will be good so we can have a bbq but I'm not holding my breath!
OS wise for today, more ironing and tea is going to be fish in butter sauce with mash and veg.
Hope everyone has a lovely day, hugs to all in need/want xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,

Great to see you back Diva- hope the projectiles stop very soon
This sunny weather is waking me earlier,so already done lots of things-fed the birds, filled the dishwasher, put the washer on.I think that has just finished so that can go out shortly.I think I may wash DS2s curtains as they are looking a bit grotty.
DS1 seems to have got on OK at his first day in his new job.He has to go on the train today as his car is due for MOT,and we know some work needs doing.DH & DS2 were dropping it off on the way to work.I think the mechanic wants it for a couple of days but it needs to be reliable for getting to work. The vehicles in this house seem to be costing a fortune so far this year
Right, the washing won't put itself out,and the dog will be wanting his walk,so 'see' you soon.Take care all of you.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all,
Another bright beautiful day here, got some washing in the line, and another small load to go in after.
I have a meeting this morning, I have been offered another part time (bookwork) job, which I can do at home just a few hours a week, but its very well paid :T, and should help the finances, I am going to meet my new 'boss' for a chat about it all, I am very excited about it
Did not get round to baking of online shopping yesterday, so they are on the list for today, I did manage to get another coat of paint on the utility and loo, it will need another, but OH can do that on saturday.
Nees to go and get DD's train ticket for school next week. And I think I need some spaghetti, might do meatballs for tea.
Ladygrim, huge hugs for you and your DH xx

Morning all.
It's a gorgeous day here. Taking kiddles off for haircuts today then might go into town. There is a butcher in the market who has gorgeous meat and is really reasonable so I stock up every so often.
Need to get the dogs out first though.
Hope everyone is ok and Diva I don't know the story but hope you feel better soon.
GemmaBuckle I don't envy you, after last time I am NEVER moving again.
I am very jealous of those who are decorating, we have been here 4 years and still have the hall, stairs and landing, bathroom, DS's room and our room to do and the way money is it's not looking too promising:(Sealed pot member 954:D

Morning Peeps
lovely and sunny here this morning but freezing outside
Dh was supposed to be home last night with the houndlets but rang to say that he had booked an extra days holiday at w*rk so was staying another night, he should be home around tea time so i have plenty of time to get on with things here.
I`m absolutely bushed, i could not sleep for the life of me last night and was still awake at 3am, Bee and Queue rang at 8am to say that they were about 15 minutes away so now i have the latest delivery in the hall and kitchen  i can`t move around very well so it will have to stay where it is until DH gets back and we can hopefully move most of it out of the way, there is no way that i can move the bigger items out of the way on my own as they are far too big and heavy.
Stll feel a bit strange this morning, think i`m a bit run down and i must have caught some bug or other, can`t afford the time to be poorly atm so i shall just grin and bear it but think that i need some comfort food so i`ve decided to lay off the diet until i feel a bit better.
Diva - Smashing to see you back :j hope that you are feeling much better very quickly. We missed you loads.
Donny gal - When we had to get all the paper off the lounge walls before plastering i found that nothing worked better than quite warm water in a spray bottle. Score the paper with the edge of the scraper and give it a good soaking from the bottle (old towels along the skirting boards are good to soak up any runs) leave it for 5 mins to soak in and then scrape it all off. Very good for all the little bits left behind too.
Ladygrim - ((((HUGS))))
Right i`m off to hang out the first load of washing, coat on first i think though brrrrrr!
Have a lovely day peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all...............((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.....
Welcome back Diva, hope you continue to improve each day, do take it easy though.......
There appears to have been a fire in the village last night, as we were going to bed, OH started to set the table for breakfast and saw smoke, it appears to have been towards the bottom of the village, doubtless someone will tell us later this morning, probably the postman.
There is a bit of blue in the sky this morning, but just now its quite cool. Not sure that I am going to be doing this morning, possibly more in the garden, although I could do with baking, we have no cake or scones.......might make some biscuits too.
Another no show yesterday for the plant, so it will go to Suntrap for the plant stall.
I made another of the shabby chic cushion covers yesterday, machined the side seam of the curtain for the hall, OH was bowling. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all
well had a busy day yesterday with an extra 5 children and we went to southend in the eve fo a walk n some chips 3 girls stayed over last night they are all still asleep so got time to myself. Dogs have been walked and someone is coming to see Tilly today so fingers crossed they like her and she finds her forever home
yesterday the policeman came 2 hours late and then said that they dont take statements anymore unless there is proof of who committed the crime so all in all a bit of a waste of time for all concerned
