I have spent £2.79 in Wilkinsons (Slug Pelletts, Deodorant & Loo Roll), £2.36 in Quality Save (Toothpaste, Chocolate & Diet Coke) and £2 on a taxi to work this morning (Had 10 mins to get to work as valuer had been to value house and didn't leave till 10.20am and had to be here by 10.30 at the latest, could have walked it but I am 7 months pregnant and it would have taken me about 30 mins! Well, thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Lol!! )

    hi MJBP,

Are you claiming benefits? I am sure a friend of mine could claim back interview travelling expenses whilst on JSA. Also, how much is a weekly ticket, it might be worth it if you're travelling more than 2 days per week? Thirdly, do you need a travel card? Would a return train fare be adequate? Tube and bus fares are cheaper in London if you use an oyster card (I think you have to pay a £10 deposit but will be useful if you are going to be working in London and you can claim the deposit back if you don't). Have a look on https://www.tfl.gov.uk. Oh, and lastly, good luck with the interviews, what kind of job are they for?

    Hi Imelda,

Im not claiming benefits; i finished uni 2 months ago and expect to have a job soon. Im already working part time, and to be honest was too lazy to find out what i was entitled to through benefits. If i get the job i will be getting a travelcard ( i will need one because the job is for restaurant manager so my shift patterns will be all over the place and will need to use all modes of transport)

I think i will get an osyter card if i get the job; it is just demoralising spending £25 on travel for two days!

Thanks for the advice imelda and the good luck wishes. Fingers crossed!
