    I will have 18 months between my 5th and 6th-due next month.He was an oopsie but I can't complain too much as after 5 girls I am finally having a boy :)My smallest age gap previously was 25 months.

    5 girls? :eek::eek::eek:

    I feel sorry for this boy and your husband! imagine the teenage years when all the menstrual cycles are aligned. ARGHHHH!

    Congratulations!!

    Apparently falling pregnant soon after having a baby is quite common, as couples are so pre-occupied with looking after the new born, they overlook the contraception thing!

    I'm amazed they've got time for jiggy jiggy tbh..

    I can't imagine what you're going through! It's such hard work at this stage without being pregnant too. I hope you have an understanding GP who will listen to your worries.

    On a positive note, I knew a girl who did this deliberately as she wanted her children close together and it was actually easier in some ways as they played the same games etc and entertained each other. And my friends at school were about a year apart and I don't think I've ever known brothers closer than they were.
    May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

    Congratulations!
    My 2nd and 3rd are 11 months apart so i understand the shock! They are now 4 and 5, boy then a girl and get on so well and it was much easier in the early months than i thought it would be. My 1st was 3 when my 3rd was born so was an exhausting time - but worked out so well!
    The only negetive i have found is that I dont have any memory of my 2nd childs first year. I couldnt tell you anything about his milestones - pregnancy automaticlly takes centre stage in the brain! So write down everything you want to remember during the next 8 months and take lots of videos and photos. Apparantly it is common in these circumstances but no one told me so i dont have many things to trigger memmories of my sons 1st year.

    Xanthe congratulations how wonderful I would say you are probably 5 weeks gone but get yourself up the docs and they will arrange a scan for you.

    Im one of the less than twelve months between the two that pigpen mentioned so you have done better than me. My bubs will be 11 1/2 months old when new one arrives. I also believe that once you get past two kids it doesnt really change much more no matter how many you have. At least i hope thats how it works im sure some of the 5th 6th and 7th timers will correct me if im wrong. :-) x

    You were the one I was thinking of!! lol

    And this 9th timer will tell you after 3 you really don't notice the new presence.. they are just like they were always there and fit in with routines etc of everyone else they seem to instinctively know when to need a feed or attention.
