The theme music choked me up when I first heard it and iggle piggle is just too much like a baby in a little fluffy sleepy suit so no wonder it makes you cry seeing him drifting off alone!

We're all alone when we sleep. It's our world we go to and we can't take anyone with us. I don't think that's sad. I think it's something children can feel good about. Their imaginations are very powerful and there's no-one telling them what to do!
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

When my children were little, they both used to burst into tears at the end theme music. They were too young to tell me why, so I just stopped them watching it! The theme music is strangely melancholy, though!

Thanks for that link, I had a good laugh at some of the comments and I needed a laugh.

I'm actually worried about Uppsie Daisy.......she presses a button and her skirt flies up... bit of a tart I'd say

    And Iggle Piggle only gets into her bed because he doesn 't seem to have a bed.... {please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm fairly new to ITNG}

Apologies Xmaslolly 76 for assuming you were around my age you are MUCH younger than me... believe me, I'm a granny and so the interest in ITNG.

  • On a more serious note I think the 'floating away' scene is a subliminal message about death.

And not very subliminal, especially when Derek Jacobi says "Don't worry, Iggle Piggle"

OP you are not bonkers at all, I think that.

Also, Dr Who is a metaphor for Jesus...but thats nothing new either.

oooh so I hate childrens programmes, especially Angelina Ballerina as whilst watching it with my niece Angelina proudly declared

"I love my Daddy... because... my Daddy buys me things"...

I was horrified but knowone else seemed to bat an eyelid.

(I don't have children yet so I should probably learn to like them sometime soon!).

  • Shouldn't have read the responses to this thread from jackieb & ribin banks before putting my daughter to bed, I didn't want to leave her. I had to 'pop out to the shed' whilst ITNG was on to void it. I think I might need therapy now to get over my iggle piggle trauma.

I'll have to watch some hollyoaks to cheer myself up.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I don't get ITNG at all - it's all slightly freaky. More into Peppa Pig myself and would very much like to adopt little brother George.:o

DH harbours some very aggressive feelings towards Angelina Ballerina which probably need talking through at some point.
Me and DGD prefer Peppa Pig, she is just one and ITNG seems to bore her to death:(:(I think she likes all the giggling on Peppa tbh;)

I hadn't even thought that deeply into it (or actually sat through an entire episode, it's Daddy's baby calming aid not mine... I have boobs, I don't need ITNG)

But reading that quote just made me so sad for Iggle Piggle... I don't think I will ever be able to think of it in the same light... :(
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
