My debt free diary

Ok so like a fair few people on here, i have decided to set up a diary of my plans to sort myself out.
I got my credit report yesterday, and i knew it was going to be bad, but its kinda pushed me into thinking what i want from my future
so about me
I am 24, two beautiful children and a trainee motor mechanic.
i live in a HA home
about my credit
4 ccjs
6 defaults
36 searches made on me in 12 months
and yes i take full responsibility that when i turned 18 i was an absolute idiot as far as getting credit was concerned
my future plans
well i would like to buy my home, i love it where i live and dont want to live anywhere else, but how the hell am i supposed to get a mortgage. anyway i am not eligible for right to buy for another three years yet, in which time i hope my credit file will be looking healthier, also i hope i will have qualified as a fully trained motor vehicle technician....
anyway
I have two defaults ( satisfied ) and one ccj ( not showing as settled or satisfied however i am pretty sure it has been paid )
these are due to be removed later this year
does anyone know FOR SURE that a ccj or default will come off wether or there is a balance outstanding
i have checked numerous websites but have been given different opinions
I am going to leave credit well alone for now, as i cant even get a basic bank account
and 36 searches in a year is certainly not doing me any favour
If anyone can give me a definate answer to the above i will be grateful
thanks :j

I have now officially lost count of how many jobs i have applied for today, i hve even applied for jobs i dont want to do , but needs must
appied fr loads ofmechnics jobs over the past few months, i really hope im not getting any feedback because thre are no positins avalibale and not because im female.
eally getting annoye tho, so desperate for a job, as im sure lots of other people are
wht annoyed me most this week is the bloke down the job cetre,
i asked him to put me forward for a job, and he said he couldnt, because i had young children I DIDNT HAVE TO WORK .... !!!!!! .... i want to work, i want to provide for my family, its ridiculous
nay mind, im determined to get into the trade and i will, i just need somethingto keep me going till im fully qualified.
anybody know about ccjs and defaults coming off regardless of wether a balance is outstanding or not ?Weight loss 3stone 4lbs0 -
Finally sorted the rubbish out today lol, blooming bin man decided not to empty my bin and i hadto make a journey to the tip
anyway done the housework and looking forward to kids going back to school on weds, unfortunately its same day i have to return to college so no r and r for me!!!
but house is now reletivley clean so i can think clearer!!!
just been looking at my credit file again, and seeing what will be coming off when i finish at college this year ... lots of previous searches coming of in august .. and a default in july!!
looked into citibank to get a basic bank account, but decided against it, i really do not need anymore searches going on my credit file, so will just make do with my tesco personal finance account for money to b paid into and just rely on my OH account to pay car insurance
rang dwp about award notice ... desperately need it to get my housing benefit re started ... £460 in arrears and im fretting all the time, tried getting in touch withmy housing office, shes never at her desk.
anyway idwp said they will send award letter, should have it wednesday, so will have to send OH upto housing place with documents
hopefully they will start making payments soon, and i can sleep at night
Jobhunting not going to great, i did apply for loadsa jobs but its hard getting work to fit in with college ( im not quitting now only something like 10 weeks left )
gonna plod on and hopefully get some kind of work
waiting for weather to get a tinsy bit warmer then car boot!!!
of to prepare dinner nowWeight loss 3stone 4lbs0 -
good to see a girl thats into cars as well!
As for the financial situation - I know its diffiuclt and if you can hang on for 10 weeks its always best finishing college. The motor trade is currently on its knees meaning companies are getting experienced mechanics at min wage so it will just make it even harder for you to get your foot in the door.
Good luck with it all though.£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!
Debt free by Xmas 2015: #182 £1955.38/£4435.51 (44.08%)
MFW: Opening Balance: £108,297.91 Original MF Date: June 2042
Current Balance: £106600.27 Estimated MF Date: Dec 2033

Morning, I think you are brilliant to have 2 young children, go to college, want a job and want to sort out your finances. Most people can only deal with one of those at a time!Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120

Just applied by phone for a co op basic account, have to phone back in 3-4 days to find out wether the applicatons been successful ( is this usual ???) Anyway as above im not getting too excited about anything, just going soldier on lol, and what happens, happens. failing a co op account, may tr with barclays basic account, but if no luck then im deffo giving up
wont have much choice really, all my options have been explored, so will just have to let my credit report better itself.
I am on electoral roll now so theres a start
Really am hoping to hear about that job tomorrow thoWeight loss 3stone 4lbs0 -
Afraid I have no idea about bank accounts - but I'm sure that you will find advice somewhere on here.
You have done well to get your head around any financial problems you have now. I stuck my head well and firmly in sand for too many years. I am 39 now and keep thinking that if only I'd stopped and thought earlier.;) My dh is 55, so only 10 years till he retires - if I let him:)! We are confidant(ish) that we will be debt free in about 5 years and we have another 10 years on mortgage. However, we also have 4 kids to fund and they just get more and more expensive (and less and less grateful:rotfl:)Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -

I was fortunate my mum took a loan out to pay all my debts ( not straight away had creditors chasing me for a while b4) , i have now fully paid her back, but obviously my credit report is shot !
i know its just going to take time for it to repair itself, theres nothing more i can do.
I know hat you mean, regarding having your head stuck in the sand, i wish they taught us more at school, about money, mortgages, credit etc, think it would of been very beneficial to many people.
with you on the kids thing tho, my two are only 4 and 8, but im sure they think i have a secret money tree lol.
I hope you get debt free in 5 years, hopefully sooner. i wish i knew then what i knew now about money, but in a way im glad its all happend, because i feel i can better educate the kids about the importance of money and hopefully they wont have to go through what i did.
and i hope your husband can retire,
Why im up at stupid o clock, when i have college tomorrow, is annoying, i did go to bed, but im thinking wayyyyyyy to much about things at the moment, think i need to chill, and get into a routine ( like a child lol ) but really i think i need to start looking after my health more, and relax, cos there are things playing on my mind.. must try and get my head down for a couple of hours now ... hope my alarm goes off lol :rotfl:Weight loss 3stone 4lbs0 -
Hiya,
I am new to the site, but liking this diary idea so may give it a go.
Anyway re the satisfied defaults and ccj. I think once satisfied you can request that they are removed from your file by contacting the credit file agency i.e. experian. I may be wrong but you could check with CAB for sure, unless someone else knows for sure.
Keep going0
