I just applied to barclay's for their intial card , didnt get a answer yet , anyone know how long barclays take to come to a decision ?


or does it mean ive been turned down , it never said instant so am i just worrying over nothing ? lol

no it doesnt mean you have been turned down, they take a few weeks to get back to you, have you tried one with your bank as well? beens they have given you a full account, why not a cc? worth lookin into that

i wanted to try and get others before trying my bank , if im successful i can cancel capital one or get a better deal and after 6 months of running both into the ground and paying them fully each month my rating should i hope grow and then go for a card from my bank .. but we shall see what BC say forst if they say no i think ill leave it all for a while

Barclays have searched experian but still no answer if they have searched do you think they would have decided and ill hear in the next day or so ?

Also ihave noticed that when i applied for the currant account 6 months ago there is nothing on my credit record about the application , but , there is 2 checks from halifax for credit card application , does this matter or should i get them removed as i havent applied for a credit card with them and if it shows 2 applications wouldnt it make it harder for me to get one ?

i would get them checked out , if you didnt apply, they shouldnt be on your file, make be some one else tried in your name??

was there an amount next to the search by barclays?

No there wasnt an amount next to it , it was in the searches not in the accounts part , so it shows just the search date and details with application : credit card

i doubt they was someone else trying to use my name as they was on the same date i tried for the currant account but was turned down , so i think someone has put the wrong details in

if they had said yes would an account be showing there or not till i sign the paperwork ?

im not sure, usually if you dont get one, there is an amount of how much they were trying to give you, but im not 100% , barclaycard do take sometime in replying, so keep me updated xx

well , i didnt get a response i thought id get , lol i just got a letter in the post this morning with a card in lol , was it just me or did i miss something when i applied , im sure it didnt say i got accepted , so i thought i would have got a letter not the card straight away lol , the limit they gave me is £1250 which was more than i expected.

so whats the next step ? ring capital one and see if they will do something about my rate and limit ?
