:hello: Good morning all! I thought it was time I showed my face again
donny-gal Thanks for the "soft food" suggeations the other day. Sadly DH isn't keen on fish, though he will eat fishcakes and fish fingers (actually i suppose fish fingers are quite soft too!) He says it's because the fish his Mum served when he was a child was always full of bones. Sounds as if you and DH are very busy lately
tired mum I was upset to hear about your gates, infuriating that again you have no proof of who it was
bargainbird Glad it all went well! I take it you didn't go to pigeon club?
candygirl Glad you had a nice family day y'day.
Pink_winged - Have a good day at work x
CRANKY (((HUGS))) to you and Grumpy, it must be very hard knowing Paul's ship is inbut it's nice to see you posting because all of us who "know" you think of you loads x
Eager Elephant Welcome - I've never done anythng with Weetabix except eat it with milk onbut I'm glad to see other people have been able to help.
csarina - What lovely flowers! Thanks for posting that photo.
Thanks SunnyGirl for the news of Diva! Hopefully she will feel up to posting soon.
ETA: essex-girl I was so sorry to hear about your driverThe poor man, I do hope he will get his confidence back.
I treated myself to a Dualit hand mixer the other day :j I was going to make a cake yesterday but found the flour had gone out of date while we were away (and I don't think there would have been enough anyway) so it will have to wait til another day. I'd been buying small bags of flour as I wasn't feeling up to baking, but might just get some big bags next timeI'll have to try not to get carried away with feeling better though, or I might suddenly find I don't feel better any more
Got one of the half price Elmwood chooks y'day so that's in the freezer atm. Not sure what's for dinner tonight. Last night we had pasta bolognese. I know there's some stew in the freezer so it will probably be that, with bread to dunkThe meat's nice and tender so not too much chewing required!
Hope everyone has a good day :wave:0 -
Morning all, bit overcast at the moment have a big mountain of ironing to catch up on this morning so I shall do that whilst listening to the tales of woe in the Archers on the wireless.I hope the chap takes all of the vinyl records this afternoon as I am climbing over boxes of them and will be glad to get some room back.My house is quite a small one with only one sitting room and no dining room at all so its not like I can shift them anywhere else. What he doesn't take will probably go to the charity shop, I have several in my area .
I must also get a move on organising my paperwork from my genealogy stuff I have stack of that to go through and catalogue.
Lunch will be what ever I dig out of the fridge as I want to use up as much of my fresh food as possible.Hope everyone has a good day
Take care all

Morning All,
Lazy morning for me, DH has just got up and jumped in the shower. Eggs for brekkie soon. He always makes breakfast at weekends. Its the rule:rotfl:
We had a gorgeous day over in Yorkshire and a lovely lunch of cottage pie. I really wasn't impressed with the WW cheesecake, tasted a bit rubbery to me and just not sweet enough. Although I do have a very sweet tooth. Everyone was very polite but not up to my usual standard.:o
DD has decided that is it with her BF. He just wont commit and she has had enough. So this week will be spent looking for a new nursery close to us and a new home for them to rent. It will be hard work with us all at work but we will muddle through and get sorted. Its his loss and I am sure he will come to regret the way he has behaved:(
Just a pottering and tyding day as most things have been done this week. I am so anxious about work I am sure I wont sleep a wink tonight, just need to get the first day over and done with:eek:
I managed to get some trousers from Mata1an so I have my work clothes sorted. (JC I bought a lovely pair from Evans and your right I did get a bargain but they are too nice for work:rotfl:)
((((hugs)))))) to those who need them and hope the sleepy heads get more sleep tonight.
Have a good day everyone xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Bright and breezy here again, but does feel a little cooler, have got my bedding in the wm, will get dd to strip hers once she is up
Ivyleaf I bought myself a dualit hand mixer about a year ago, the are very sturdy and are said to last for years, I love mine
I would like to spend some time in the garden today, the grass needs a cut, and I have some seeds to plant, just toms and lettuce this year, I do not have the time for much else. Also I would like to get a coat of paint on the utility and downstairs loo.
Donny, if you are painting directly onto plaster, you need to do a 'mis coat' first, which is very watered down paint, like semi skimmed milk, let this go off then paint as normal. Sorry if you already know this, but this is what we have been having all the trouble with in this house as the bloke had not done this. If its not done the paint will stick at first, but sooner or later it will start to come off in chunks.
I have a chicken to roast later, will do it with salad and new pots, I have some quorn bacon style chunks for dd, and some hard boiled eggs. More fruit salad and ice cream for afters.
DD 'owes' me a car clean, so will get her to do that today. And her bedroom needs a good tidy.
Will get little dog out for a good run later.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning and hello as I'm new to OS, very exciting
A day in the house with my little ones (5 and 18 months) today, a little housework (I have a keen eye on the fly lady thread!) going to lookup how to make weetabix cake (maybe a good idea as little one isn't eating much due to being poorly 'cake' will have her interested I'm sure!
Also a sanding job on my new found furniture project
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all
I've just spent the last hour uploading music to my ipod ready for when I return to work, I'm tired of spending the day in silence apart from the machines, I used to be able to listen to the radio via my pc, but can't do that any more.
It's not as warm here today, but we will have the french doors open all day as long as it doesn't rain. We will spend most of the day in the garden, pottering around. This evening I shall make a start on a preemie cardigan with the wool I received yesterday from a very kind MSE'r.
Have a good day everybody.
Hugs Hester

DS is packing for his school trip to Bude for the GCSE P.E course they are doing surfing:eek: will be good for him as he is bored and needs to be round kids his own age
NPM hugs to you sleep deprivation is the worst thing ever
MSD thinking of you
Cranky you may be surprised when you go for your weigh in
Right the sun is shinning and dogs have been walked so i better get on with the dinner which is gamon ,roasties, and swede carrot mash with yorkies and DD1s fave apple braid
I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are up to0 -
Hi folks - sorry to hear of lack of sleep and peeps on here being unwell (((hugs)))
Weather beautiful here in Scotland - see what I was missing all these years down south ?:p
Was up in the night for a few hours studying but went back to bed at 6am (when a lot of you were getting up, I know!) and got another couple of hours.
Have DSS aged 15 here on hols at mo. He and his dad had planned a hike today but our old dog has been poorly the last 2 days so they will keep an eye on her. I have to spend the day in the library otherwise I'd have been with her. She enjoyed her (short) walk this morning which is good but she is such a scavenger and has had a dodgy tum.
OS - sorry nothing to report. family has been fed on dreadfully unhealthy things while I've been getting this writing 'sorted'. How sorted it is will remain to be seen but at least the deadline is tomorrow so I will be able to do normal things ha ha.
Have a good day - hope the weather is good for you all

Good Morning Everyone,
wmf you are so right, it's fabulous up here today again. My wee dog has been sunning herself outside since 8am! I realised that, at about 7 months old, this is the first sunshine she's ever seen. OH left the livingroom door open last night and I came down to her sleeping on the sofa this morning, she was in her element, as she's desperate to get up on the sofa with us, I think she reckons she's a human too!
Had a lovely busy day yesterday, got most of my new plants and bulbs in, but have decided to redo a part of the front garden which is a right pain in the backside to cut, so will [STRIKE]con[/STRIKE] persuade the OH to dig it all over today so that I get it all planted, I think. He will also get the grass cut and rolled for seeding. He's also off to B & Q later for a tapkit for the back garden, as I'm fed up dragging the watering can round the house.
I finally managed to get up early this morning, washing on the line, all Coco's stuff is now in the machine, pancake mix made for breakfast, and will get the mise en place done for dinner tonight. Risotto here too, jc although I am having pea and broad bean, I don't like peas with mint at all. Shocking, I know. Will also do a wee bit of baking, don't know what yet, but I had been thinking of trying the weetabix brownies, and now you're all talking about them that sounds like a bit of a sign.
Diva, Bargainbird, Tiredmum, Cranky, NPM and everyone else who's having trouble or worries at the moment, I have been thinking of you all.
Welcome to being frugal
Hugs if you would like them, I hope you all have a gorgeous day.
