Morning! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday 11th April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning All
Sorry about the duplicate thread but it would have done my head in looking at OD Daily all day!!
Busy day today (aren't they all???) Need to bath kids this morning, prep veg, makes some more cakes for the birthday party, get some MSing done when the shops open at one before the party starts at three...then eat and drink for the rest of the day
Chicken is in the slow cooker, kitchen needs a wipe round to get rid of the last of the flour that has settle overnight and need to get some washing on the airer as TD is still broken.
Have a good day what ever you are doing x

Hi Everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place to post with a query or whether I should start a new thread?
I have way too much Weetabix Mini's Chocolate Chip flavour http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/asda-compare-prices/Breakfast_Cereals/Weetabix_Minis_Chocolate_Crisp_450g.html and don't know what to do with it.
My son used to love it so when it was on special offer I brought loads and now he has decided he does not like them!!
I have about 6 boxes left and wondered how I could cook with these, I have seen the weetabix cake recipe but my children don't like sultanas/raisins etc so wondered if this could be adapted.
Thanks for your help

Morning All
NP jc but I seem to think that if you "go advanced" you can edit your title.
Hoping Diva, Cranky, Pen-Pin and all other old friends on here not feeling 100% have a better day, together with the new ones of course :grouphug: Tiredmum hope you can get your neighbours sorted.
Got the wood dado rail off, and the plate racks down, put them on freecycle and someone wants them, so is better than smashing them up as they came off cleanly. Managed to get the top layer of all of the lounge and dining area, and down to the plaster in the dining area. Thinking of looking at a contrasting colour for a feature wall, maybe the chimney breast and the arch wall of a deep terra cotta to match the carpet. Will have to have it mixed as it will not be a standard shade. However, we have to just get matt emulsion, not vinyl as it will not adhere and will not let the new plaster breathe. Hope they mix that. Someone says that The Range is far cheaper than B&Q anyone else any suggestions?
We are both awake now, so will have breaky and get going. Had jacket spud with mince and beans last night, found some cooked mince in the freezer and will have that again today with whatever I have the energy for at the end of the day! says she who is creaking in every joint this morning :rotfl:
Eagerelephant - search the recipe thread for Weetabix Brownies, I think these will make those fine.
Take care -DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
jc2703, I've deleted the thread for you.
Eager_Elephant, These threads might help:
Using up Weetabix
Weetabix Brownies
Delicious WEETABIX cake!
I'm off out to work in a minute so there will be very little in the way of Old Style happening here today although I've left instructions for Mr Pink to clean up the barbeque as we're having the first barbeque of the season this evening.
Have a good day everyone.

morning
it was a lovely day yesterday weatherwise , got the grass cut and tidied up the garden generally , really enjoyed it
NPM I dont sleep too well these days but 5 hrs in 5 days  poor you , hope you get chance just to crash out
roast beef for lunch with the usuals
Diva / bargainbird hope you are both recovering
all quiet here as everyone is still in bed , the cat is curled up on my knee ( which makes typing difficult)
have;) a lovely day xx0 -
Good morning,
Yesterday I tidied the front room to a mostly acceptable standard (toys need going through and junk disposing of but that will have to wait until the house elf is back at school), then we spent the afternoon in the park. The children had lots of fun, and were wandering in front of the band, dancing and blowing bubbles.
Today I want to make some spag bol and pasta bake for the freezer, and I have a recipe for weightwatchers coffee and walnut cake that I fancy trying. I have been tryig to lose weight for my holiday, but given the stress effect of the builders being here, and the cat's trotty bum, I haven't done very well.
I finally tried the green tomato chutney that I made last autumn. It is yummy!. I found the recipe on here somewhere.
Take care all of you0 -
Sistercas....I am usually awake at 4 each day as that is when DS starts his day:o but due to the holiday stress he isn`t getting to sleep at all and it is a bit of a killer:eek:....can`t even get to bed early as he is still awake then.
This is when I wish we had a relative near so I could maybe get a couple of hours in this afternoon:(0 -
I'm up early with Boo, have had brekky and am going to bath her in a bit, she loves playing in the bath:DAm prob going to a car boot sale later, there's an indoor one if the weather isn't great, it looks dull today:(
Have got lentil curry for tea n veg sausages for dinner:p:p
(((huggles))) to all in need today:A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Morning all
(((NPM))) I too had a bad night's sleep - but feel bad for saying so cos I got 6 hours before I started haveing wierd dreams. And then I woke up sneezing for no reason so was awake from 4.30-6 reading and sneezing. Managed an extra 90mins before getting up.
WM is on and will go outside to dry on balcony. Yesterday I bought some small coloured tealight holders from Morrisons for 50p each and put them around the railing on my balcony. They look pretty in daylight, but look even better at night with lit candles
I need to hoover, tidy and put laundry away today but I'm not really in the mood :rotfl: At the moment it's a tad cloudy, but should burn off shortly, so until the sun comes I will do a bit but then I shall be out on the balcony reading in the sunshine
Think I'll have fruit salad/muesli for breakfast, I made a big salad yesterday so will have leftover with hard boiled eggs and quorn sausages for lunch, I may boil some spuds to have potato salad too. I may branch out to make my first risotto tonight - pea and mint flavour - but it depends on whether I am going out for adrink with friends later or not.
Have a great Sunday all
