I could do with a total re-style but--that's the problem! I haven't a clue WHAT style I fancy :doh:So, rather than just do something to say it's done, I've just left it & now it's down to my waist! I'm toying with following my nephew's lead, who had his past-shoulder length locks chopped off but got his mates to sponsor him and donated the tresses to a cancer charity who make hair pieces for those going thru chemo. Perhaps I'll go see if I can find out a bit more about it now, while we're waiting for the footie to start...Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

sounds good BMF
Well, I had my hair cut and it feels lots better!still long though, I'll never have short hair. Best of al, my mum paid! She offered to pay as I've drove all the way home for the weekend and she said she'd treat me, which was lovely
so yesterday was NSD no 10 for May which is good going.
Today won't be a NSD as I need to get petrol to get back to uni (it's a 3 hour drive) and some foodie bits for the coming weekBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

taxi - it was lovely to be at home, the weekend went far too quickly.
*moan alert*
I'm really fed up this evening. Just finished doing work - this includes doing lesson plans, going to the library to get more books out, sorting out more paper work for the standards file. I'm shattered today, even though I slept okay last night. I'm always so tired now.
I've had another spend day as well. Needed to get a new ink cartridge for the printer as I'm printing more and more at the moment to show for evidence that I'm teaching what I say I am, etc., so I topped up the car with petrol as I was spending anyway, and got myself some instant coffee and some flavoured water at the same time.
I'm fed up of spending money that I don't have. I know I can't do anything about petrol prices, and I did drive over 6 hours this weekend to go home which I really needed, but I'm spending a small fortune on petrol it seems. My budget for petrol never really allows enough, as it seems to be going up all the time. The printer cartridge set me back £15.57 but was unavoidable. I just hate having no money all the time.
I'm also worried about the summer and stressed about moving out somewhere with the BF. Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited about the whole prospect but at the same time it's the most daunting thing ever. We'll be surviving off just his salary for 3 months, whilst trying to sort out living somewhere new and me starting my NQT year in a strange place. I'm so scared of what might happen but now that it's now or never so to speak. I'm sure it'll be alright; we're both saving hard now so that the deficit of me not earning anything over the summer won't be that much hopefully. But, as it's my last summer before the madness starts, I want it to be fun as well, not having to worry if we have enough money to do anything.
Before anyone says, I know we have money in savings and we'll use it if necessary. It would just be good if we didn't have to, as it's supposed to be for a house deposit.
Sigh. I'll be better tomorrow....Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Slowly just popped over from the NSD thread, but not sure i have advice, just big hugs :grouphug:
I do know how you feel, sometimes i feel as if one day can blow a whole month of trying!!!!
Not sure this will help any, but you & OH have each other, which is worth such a lot, & as BMF once told me the strangers in your new home town are just friends waiting to be met.....
What you have proved is that you can control your spending, you've had some great NSD months, you can keep this up even with expensive spending, which means that any savings you spend you do know you have the willpower to replace, but you are entitled to a life aswell & you shouldn't feel guilty about this. From what i'm reading, you're not wasting money, you're investing it in your education & therefore your future.
Bad times will hit, but you have inspired me in the way you tackle things so hang on in there.

Thanks for that lovely post, doineedit
I think it's just dawning on me what a massive change this summer will bring, and in one respect i'm ready for it, but on the other hand, i'm really scared!
thanks for your support though, its so much easier knowing other people are on hand to pick you up a bit
xx

You'll be allright sweetheart,
I wondered how you were getting on cause I'm not posting as much on the 4k thread. I'm glad things are going well with the BF, soon to be LIB!
it would be good if we could miss out the awkward parts of life and just have the good bits, but unfortunately, it does not work that way.:(
It will all be worthwhile when you've got your degree and have that fantastic job you deserve.
Take care. x0 -
Of course we're here to pick you up anytime you need it
I made a big move to a place where i knew no one about 18 months ago. Yes it was the scariest thing i've ever done, but some days it is also the best!!! I think i'll always be up & down cos the bad days get me when things are tough (largely my own fault to be fair!), but i figure that would happen anywhere & more scary would be to have missed these opportunities for change & all the great things i have done & the people i have met.....
Right enough preaching for now!!!!
Hope you sleep well tonight & we're all here if you need us!!!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
Aw, big huge hugs SF, :grouphug:. And here's a nice :coffee: and some virtual biccies. A good moan can be a great help and we're all here to listen. And remember what some wise person once said: "This too shall pass".
I think you're doing great - some people wouldn't even be thinking of their finances along with finishing a course, starting a career and preparing to move in with BF. So I reckon you have a headstart!
It won't be long till you have more coming in than going out but the frugal tendencies you've developed will always stand you in good stead. I think it's worth going over budget (e.g on petrol for a trip home) for the sake of your health and happiness. It's not like you're throwing all caution to the wind and spending money willy-nilly on rubbish.
Anyway, just wanted to wish you love and luck and hope you can hang in there.
Love and hugs,
Nuala xTrying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
