Thanks I definately have the confidence to go for it now!
I've seen some really nice ones on Next website.:jGetting married 17th July 2010 woohoo :j0 -
You must wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable :-)
It'd be a shame to spoil your day if you felt awkward towering over your hubby. From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -
Firstly ~ congratulations!! :TGetting married in July and am very excited:j
Perhaps you should get your H2B to wear heels!Only problem is my husband to be and I are the same height in real life and when I wear heels I tower over him which I hate at the best of times.
It's your wedding and you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in, and what makes you happy.I would like to wear some nice sparkly silver flats on my wedding day but something about it doesn't seem right. I hate the thought of walking down the aisle with my shoes flip-flopping under my dress.
I also don't really like kitten heels as they present the same problem.
I really don't want to look like a drag queen on our big day!
Advice please

I was at a wedding where the bride came from a very posh family, she wore a fabulous dress & looked like an absolute dream

it wasn't until she & her groom took the floor for their first dance & she hitched up her gown, that we could see that she'd been wearing white Doc Marten's all day
:T
wear what makes you happy/comfortable :A0 -

I think I will probably go for ballet pumps because I just want to be comfy although I would like a bit of extra height as I'm short. I think comfort is more important, still undecided at the moment. But I definately think flat shoes are acceptable. No question!

Same here, we are both the same height (well actually I am a smidge taller!!) He has bought some 'proper' shoes with small heel and I have some kitten heel shoes, so I will still be a little taller but going to have pictures taken on the steps LOL:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

my friend is taller than her husband and she got a lovely pair of flats to wear on her wedding day. can't remember where she got them but there are lots of lovely shoes out there in every sized heel possible.
and while I'll probably get a small heeled shoe for the service and most of the day I've designed my own converse (love those shoes) which I'm getting shipped to my uncle in America and he's going to ship them to me (they don't ship directly to the UK)
I'm going to have purple shoes if I can manage to get them and my converse are going to be purple as well!0
