Is it ok to wear flat shoes on your wedding day????

Getting married in July and am very excited:j
Only problem is my husband to be and I are the same height in real life and when I wear heels I tower over him which I hate at the best of times. I would like to wear some nice sparkly silver flats on my wedding day but something about it doesn't seem right. I hate the thought of walking down the aisle with my shoes flip-flopping under my dress.
I also don't really like kitten heels as they present the same problem.
I really don't want to look like a drag queen on our big day!
Advice please :)

You don't have to wear flipflops you can get some lovely flat strappy sparkly sandals these days.

is surely better for you on the day! i wore high heels for my wedding and had aching feet the whole day!

would love to see a picture of what you decide to wear on the day - my friend wore her new reeboks under her dress. it was a winter wedding!

It is perfectly OK to wear flats - in fact it makes sense as you have to do so much standing around. Also ...(sad story from my distant past)....
...The photographer directed first husband to stand on a higher step outside the chapel & brand new husband took exception, blaming me for wearing heels (they were teeny!), not the best of starts :o

I wore slippers, proper fluffy slippers (although I had worn high-heels for a bit)
