Your 1p books will cost you money to sell I'm afraid - unless by chance there is only one nutcase selling for 1p and the rest of them are a better price and you can list yours at a good price, if not the only answer is to ebay them or give them away - sorry, it's not the answer you wanted
I've just started putting mine on at what I consider reasonable even though there may be quit a few at 1p - and several of them have sold oin the last few days - seems some people don't trust the 1p sales. It also help I think that most of mine are used as new. I decided I would rather not sell a book than sell at sill y prices and it seems to be working.£2 saver club £16 so far!! - it's growing!!! :j

Hi Beth,
I don't have many 1p books and have only ever sold a couple. I think it will be even less economical to list 1p books [unless they are very, very thin]once the postage changes tomorrow. I guess some buyers may have had bad experiences as clearly some of the bigger 1p lisitings will make quite a big loss on postage so maybe sellers withdraw and refund when they realise this? Makes no sense to me as everyone looses

I have sold tons of 1p books with no problems but am seriously considering putting my prices up now with the postal changes, is anyone else considering this?0 -
Hi
I have just sold 3 more books this weekend which were on with other sellers for 1p but I had priced at £1.5 to £3 - some people really do not seem to trust the 1p lot.
HAving said that I have sold quite a few at 1p - if you sell enough it does take you to over the 30 books a month to cover the proseller charges so you make more profit on the other books you sell. And even then I usually make more than I would taking them down to the guy in the nmarket who would give me 25p a book - only really valid on my own books I'm selling or when I got them free but hey, income is income!
But after all that I no longer list at 1p unless there are over a hundred sellers already at 1p. And from what I can see the new charges mena that postage will actually go DOWN on quite a lot of books!£2 saver club £16 so far!! - it's growing!!! :j

I've sold 3 today, and each one is now cheaper to post.0 -
Not happy with the new postage sysyem. Don't know if its teething problems, or a dodgy postmaster! Posted 11 small paperbacks today fitted through the "large letter" slot with bags of room all round. Was charged "packet" price for all of them as "they clearly weren't letters". Paid £1.09 for 9 of them that would have cost 74p before and 1.39 for 2 that would have cost about 86p before. Going to try a different post office tomorrow!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Sounds totally wrong to me. the mail leaflet refers to 'Mail Items' the 'letter', 'large letter' and 'packet' is just RM's terminology for pricing purposes.
You should get the Post Master to read page 5 of the PIP A4 leaflet (ref no RMJ007A4), it gives examples of Large Letter format and specifically states: CDs and DVDs, and says that items that may exceed the LL format are VHS and most books. I think you should go back and ask for a refund.

I complained while I was there but they were adamant they were packets not letters, was a huge queue behind me, and I was getting redder by the minute! Will vote with my feet instead.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Yeah, it's easy for me to say 'Go fight it out', not so easy when you the one having to stand your ground with the pressure of the queue behind.
I'd probably vote with my feet too - and if I ran out of post offices then I'd start to print out my own labels/stamps. It's a pity, but they will end up doing themselves out of a job.
I'm about to package up some books myself to catch tonight's post - I shall see how the different prices fare. At least I've only got myself to argue with if it's Large Letter or Packet - 'cos I stick my own stamps on and hand my parcels to the postman when he comes to empty the post box.
