Nokia signed me up to N-Music!?
Had two emails this morning one after the other. First was:
"You've been successfully entered into a Nokia competition" along with "And as a thank you for entering the competition, we've set up a new nokia music store account for you."
For one thing, i haven't entered any competitions for months, i do own a nokia but it's years old and i don't recall entering any nokia competition. Besides, why does it say "you have BEEN entered" not "you HAVE entered"? Suggesting i haven't actually signed up for anything by choice even though the email also states "Password: You chose this when you entered the competition."
I just don't recall any of this and also the email address they sent it too isn't one i have previously ever used for competition entries....
The second email was: "This email is to confirm that you've successfully joined the Nokia Music Store."
Apart from that fact i would prefer to make my own mind up what site i join or not, i am quite happy with Spotify/itunes and that Nokia site doesn't seem very Apple Mac friendly.
I just wondered if anyone else had been signed up or had the same "You've been successfully entered into a Nokia competition" email, when in fact, they haven't entered anything of the kind.

Try lawyers4you, they could discuss the issue, if they take on the case to sue the pants off Nokia then they give you £200 ontop of the award, if not, I wouldn't worry about it really0 -
Sound like someone entered your email address into some competition.
The wording is just what is used when you do some action like say taking a poll or something.
Anyhow - just contact them via email and tell the account is erroneous.0 -
I had something like the above some time ago.
I signed up to the store when i got my N958GB, but then 2 years later i got an email like the above saying thank you for joining... but i was already member.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
I have just received an email saying thankyou for "purchasing" music from Nokia although the amount is showing as 0.00 for the purchase. I am annoyed that people actually do this. I have searched the site and there is not a contact as I can see except where you can ask online giving all your account number etc but I will search some more.
I have gone on forgotton password and entered the email address (MINE!!!) and pressed forgotton password but no email has come through as yet.
I will get to the bottom of this.
The email sent to me is this
Hi ************, Thank you for purchasing the following tracks/album from Nokia music store
(some trio I have not heard of!!)
0.00
There is no need to do anything in response to this email. To see details of everything you have bought and downloaded, please visit your music vault page on the Nokia Music Store. If you have any problems downloading, playing or transferring this music, please visit our help section on the nokia music store. Thank you Nokia Music0 -
I've just had the same 2 emails and googled to find out if it was a scam as I definitely haven't joined up. I take it I can just ignore it?0

There was a Pepsi competition last year where they were giving away Nokia 5800s. I didn't win one (although the missus did!), but I kept getting emails like this saying I'd signed up when I hadn't. I just ignored them and they stopped.0

Just to bump this- I have also recived the two emails.
I might have entered a Pepsi competition last year (not sure, though I do often drink pepsi)
Would really like to getto the bottom of this!
Has anyone had a response from Nokia?0 -
I've just received this email too. I did a search online but didn't find anything out. I really don't think this is anything to do with Pepsi or any recent competitions, because I haven't entered anything for probably two years and have never done anything for Pepsi ever, nor have I owned a Nokia. I'm reporting it as a phishing scam since I reckon it's probably trying to get your bank details for music downloads.0
