Mr L - Don't you just love it when someone is caught hook line and sinker!

I bet you have waited for that question with great anticipation.

    Congrats by the way.

Regarding the flights, yes, VS and BA have an air of arrogance about them that is seemingly reflected in their prices and although BA are good, their prices of late are just not even worth considering.

Never used them, but Kingfisher are apparently very good.

I don't think the rattle is being thrown out of the pram here - I think that Mr L has clearly highlighted a disparity in the prices charged by UK and Asian carriers to the same destination on the same class of ticket.

This is a money saving site and I think the post quite clearly indicates where the better value is. Sure - there may have to be a compromise on service or times etc. but to many, that may be worth the sacrifice.

Absolutely agree with your comments I've highlighted.

What I CAN'T understand is why Mr Lahey says THIS:

British Airlines really p*ss me off.

I just can't see what there is to be p*ssed off about.

Just book with whichever airline you're happy with - based on price, previous experience, most convenient flight times, most convenient departure airport etc. etc.

By all means, start a thread on here to let people know that Indian airlines are more competitive than British Airlines - but to be 'p*ssed off about it is a bit of an extreme reaction imho.

    Chill out, Mr Lahey.
If you get stressed about something as trivial as what an airline that you're NOT going to book with charges for flights, your blood pressure must be sky high.

I do not agree, what part of being p****d is not throwing the rattle out? As I said not enough information to make a judgment on price which can only be ballpark due to the very nature of airline pricing.
It would also be useful to know that on that route UK carriers do not tend to sell oneways in any class lower than full Y so hardly fare :) to compare price when the rules dictate and if you have had the pleasure of travelling on any of those Indian carriers you would know that there would be very little sacrifice in the service.
I still do not understand the purpose of the thread apart from an opportunity to get British and p****d into the same sentence.

And when you find yourself compromising on an airlines quality of service, inflight comfort, flight timings, punctuality, ability to reroute you when things go t!ts up, etc, etc, you will realise that you are not in anyway comparing "like for like". :)

Which is true of course, but I did refer to costings to 'the same destination' on 'the same class of ticket' - not a comparison of the schedules or standard of service of any particular airline which I know you will be aware, can vary immensely.

    I reiterate:
but to many, that may be worth the sacrifice.

I also alluded to the fact that when hundreds of pounds can be potentially saved, it is only sensible that cost as well as service should be factored into the equation if an individuals financial situation dictates.
