British Airlines really p*ss me off.

London - Delhi (Totals 1 adult, 2 kids)

BA - £1889
Virgin - £1909

Air India - £741
Jet Airways - £789
Kingfisher - £815

So, money saving tip, if flying to India use an airline from India.

Odd thread title as Virgin were more expensive that British AirWAYS

Just be happy you've found cheaper flights

I think Mr Lahey was speaking about British Airlines in general, ie any British airline, rather than BA.

I can't see (from the information you've posted) why you say that BA really p*ss you off.

It's up to the company how to price their flights, it's up to the consumer to decide which company to place their business with.

Nobody is forcing you to fly with BA - or any other airline.

If you don't like BA (or Virgin or any other airline) prices, then book with another company.
    Simples.

It's your money, spend it where you want.

If your post was just to let people know that you can get pretty cheap flights to India booking with an Indian carrier, that's fine - I just can't see the need to state that BA p*ss you off.

    Just one final point:
are you comparing apples and apples i.e. the same type of ticket?
Or is the BA/Virgin price for a changeable/refundable ticket and the others aren't?

I need to clarify, when i said British Airlines i didn't mean British Airways, i was not singling out any airline, but using the term to describe airlines in Britain.

My point was simply that if i use a British Airline then the cost is more than twice the amount than if i use an Indian Airline. You are right i am not being forced to use BA/VS or indeed any other airline, but that doesn't mean it doesn't p*ss me off when i see their costs.
All tickets are in Economy no flexible/refundable and so like for like.

But WHY does it p*ss you off?
What does it matter how much other airlines are charging?

Just book the flight at the price that suits you.

Does the price of tinned tomatoes in Waitrose p*ss you off when you compare it to what Aldi or Lidl are charging?

Im not posh enough to shop at Waitrose, it's Tesco for the likes of me :D

But, it p*sses me off because British Airlines have an arrogance about them, that loyal customers will pay more. A user on this thread was right when he said "you'll get a seat on the wing" that is the impression of Indian Airlines and British Airlines exploit that by charging more, in this case over twice as much.
