Help! Seller threatening to come to my house over Paypal dispute!

Some weeks ago I bought a designer belt off Ebay when it arrived it was obviously fake. I emailed the seller who just said she didnt accept returns so I went through the Paypal dispute procedure and after getting written confirmation from a retailer I received a refund through paypal. This was around 6 weeks ago. 2 days ago the seller emailed me to say she had just returned from holiday and seen the money gone from her account so she would like the belt back. I told her that paypal told me to destroy the item as it was fake so I had. She is now going mad saying I have destroyed her property and would I destroy my house if paypal told me to! She has repeatedly told me in the emails she still has my address and is coming to the area soon and wants to come round to sort something out! I have taken this as quite threatening and am very worried. Have reported the emails (all sent through ebay) but have not heard anything yet. Have told her to take it up with paypal but she not interested. I hate Ebay its just full of dishonest people selling fake goods it seems to me. Can anyone advise what to do next I would be really grateful I dont have her address as its doesnt come up on the transaction on ebay or paypal or I cant find it.

I would copy all the emails etc to Paypal, and get advice from the police if your feeling threatened. Hope you get it sorted, but try not to worry, you've done nothing wrong

If you feel threatened, take it to the Police immediately for advice. There are Laws about electronic harrassment and they will be able to advise the appropriate action.

    Good luck!

Paypal are also culpable here. If you receive fake goods, as the police will tell you, on no account destroy them.
In fact, the law demands you report them to the police or trading standards who take these things very seriously. You have destroyed evidence.
Luckily she will have other such goods presumably. Contact the police.
If she is willing to break the law in one way, she may be round.

Telling people to Destroy fake goods seems like a very silly thing to be doing.

I'm sure The Office of Fair Trading would be VERY interested to hear of this bizarre Paypal "advice".

I had a threatening ebayer. If you forward the info to ebay they will suspend threatening ebayers as long as you do not reply x

I have replied but only to say to take it up with paypal and that I had proof the item was fake. Ebay still not contacted me back, dont want to ring them as their call centre is based abroad and advisors arent to good at english! She sounds like a bit of a nutter the way she has written her emails and only lives an hour away which makes it worse. I did originally go to trading standards but chose not to follow it up. I had to sign a document from ebay and fax it back to prove I had destroyed the belt. I just put it in charity bag.
  • She won't be round, its all part of this internet tough guy, net rage culture that seems to get worse each year. I wouldn't worry.

Just ignore them. Send the emails to ebay. If they do turn up on your doorstep (which I doubt) call the police

Have just rung paypal they say there is nothing they can do, just advised me to go to the police if I feel threatened. They said she is within in her rights to come round!!!!!!!!!! Only breaking the law if she uses threatening behaviour or language! Very glad we have a big scary looking dog although she is the sofest dog ever!

As above, you have more chance of winning the lottery than of ever seeing this woman on your doorstep.

    Ignore her blustering.
