Well today i havent done too much but has been a NSD!

Took the kids on a walk down to the sea. A mile there and mile back. Had a picnic and then took them to a park for a play in the sun. Really enjoyed being outside all day! Then had dinner at MIL's. No money on entrances, parking, ice creams or drinks!!!!

Today we had a cheapish day as well..gorgeous tea at friends and a trip to the allotment as well. not much happened MSE wise but here goes:

    - 2 eggs today..keep it going chooks at this rate we could stop buying any eggs
    - used £7 voucher off supermarket shop..spent too much but the voucher was at least a help
    - checked online banking.. all in order..
    - got onion sets off friendly allotment neighbour. great thing about these places is the friendliness of the people
    - washing all on line and washed at 30 degrees
-more veggie seeds germinating and potting on

Hi all - determined new ms , thought this might interest you. I always make banana bread with my mushy bananas but I am trying not to use my oven so much. I found this recipe for a microwave version through the Old Style board. (It is on the Sainsbury's website). It only takes seven minutes in the microwave!!!!! And it is yummy too.

    Banana & chocolate chip cake
Tasty banana cake popular with children & adults.
    Serves: 10
    Preparation time: 13 Minutes
    Cooking time: 7 Minutes
Nutrition per serving: 287 cals, 13g fat, of which 5g saturated fat, 21g added sugar, 0.6g salt

    You will need
    125g margarine
    125g light brown soft sugar
    2 medium eggs, beaten
    2 large bananas
    250g self-raising flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
50g milk chocolate drops (made in a nut-free environment)

1.Place the margarine and sugar in a bowl and beat together until light and creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
2.Mash the bananas and beat into the cake mixture.
3.Sift the flour and baking powder together. Fold into the cake mixture with the chocolate drops.
4.Spoon the mixture into a greased 1.75 litre microwave ring mould and cook on HIGH for 7 minutes.
5.Leave to stand for 3 minutes, then turn out and cool on a wire rack.

Thanks Lurleene!! Have subscrined to this thread so when I get choc I can make! As am trying to be OS now I will wait until I go shopping next and get a bar of the basics choc, just just a sweet treat for the hollow legged boys in my life! :T
