Positive Haven Experiences

Had lots of holidays at Haven over the past ten years - a couple have been appalling but most were great. My advice would be avoid Hafan y Mor (only 30 miles down the coast from me but thought it would be cool for my youngests birthday weekend - how wrong we were) and Primrose Valley, but I believe they have had a lot of improvements since we went. Best one was Thorpe Park we visited last year, also enjoyed Devon Cliffs but pricey, Caister & Weymouth Bay. We have always stayed in Bronze accommodation due to having a dog but although basic its clean and any problems have been swiftly sorted out by staff.
trying to find somewhere to go in Septemebr now and will probably plump for Haven again - my kids (15, 10 & 8) absolutely love it.I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

We liked Wild Duck so much we bought a caravan there last year.
It is close to Great Yarmouth and also, to Gorleston-on-sea, a lovely sandy beach.
We use it as a base to travel to the north of Norfolk and down into Suffolk.

Just got back from Haggerston Castle which we booked through the Daily Mail and had a lovely time, the site was really nice as was the caravan. Overall been to Seton Sands, Thorpe Park, Blue Dolphin and Primrose Valley and we have enjoyed everyone. Our best experiences have been when we upgraded the caravans though, both Thorpe Park and Seton Sands we stayed in luxury caravans which were fantastic.
Anyone know if the Daily Mail will be offering anymore £9.50 hols as was much better to book than with The Sun?0 -
My vote has to be for Thorpe Park, lovely camp, lots to do, staff, especially in reception, really nice.
Golf course, lovely nature trails, lots of entertainment. Beautifully kept site, lovely and clean and the kite surfers on the beach to watch.
Food is expensive if you eat in the restaurant, but you expect that.
Tesco just round the corner though.0 -
I think sometimes it is a question of pot luck. we have had good and bad experiences. The worse one we had was in Devon, we had booked a silver caravan which was £800.00 in the brochure and paid by Tesco clubcard vouchers - it was awful. It was old, dirty with strips coming off the kitchen units - we complained and all they would do was upgrade us to a gold if we paid an extra £50.00 which we did and that was lovely. We didnt use the camp facilities much it was just a base for us.If I had paid £800.00 cash I would have been furious. However, we have always had good clean accomodation at Caister and being right next to the beach is great.0
