Positive Haven Experiences

Just wanted to know if anyone on here has had a Haven holiday that they actually enjoyed. Seems to be a lot of negative experiences. I've got a holiday booked at one of their parks in june and I'm starting to dread what I'll find once I'm there.

Been on a couple. The caravans have always been reasonable standard. We don't usually use a lot of the facilities (other than the pool and bar) as we prefer to use them as a base to get out and about. No complaints, cheap and cheerful, would be happy to go again in future.
Depends what you're looking for I guess.

we used to go every year when i was a bit younger and we loved it. I am off to scotland in may in their craigtara camp...heard good and bad reviews but i guess i'll have to wait and see.
I think if you go expecting a 5 star holiday of course you'll be dissapointed but if you have kids they will love it, always stuff going on.
our boys loved pontins last year we're hoping they'll love haven this year :D

We have enjoyed holidays with haven at Reighton Sands and Blue Dolphin.
Caravans always been in good condition, plenty of entertainment for children and both were in good locations.
I was worried the first time we went as had only ever read bad things but I couldn't fault them, hence our return which was also another excellent little break from everyday life!

The kids love Haven. Lots to do, and a cheap base if you get a good deal. We went to Blue Dolphin last year, not for the first time. Enjoyed visiting Scarborough again. My teens and 5 year old had a whale of a time. Caravan was clean and well equipped.

Off to Marton Mere this summer. Hopefully another good holiday.

I'm sure you will enjoy your break.

:TI think it depends how much you're paying. I go to haven camps about 5 times a year but only pay £9.50 per person with The Sun hols so it's an absolute bargain. however some people are paying £500 or more in the summer holidays and I wouldn't pay that.

My family love them, been to so many and always excellent value (well for our £9.50)
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

We went to to the Caister Haven a couple of years ago at the end of July for 7 days and enjoyed it. Nice beach, with a path to it from the site. Enjoyed the evening entertainment and used the pool during the day. We stayed in a chalet, but were fortunate as booked half board with a discount code, 10 months before for about £350 and then they then withdrew half board options, but gave us £200 in vouchers to spend on food at the onsite pub and in the shop. They had a nice onsite chinese takeaway as well. We drove to Great yarmouth during the day a few times and walked to the castle nearby so did not spend a great deal of time during the day there. The chalet was old fashioned, but very clean and so spacious compared to a caravan. Kids really enjoyed it and have asked to go back.

On the other hand stayed at Coombe Haven near Hastings in August and it was awful. 4 star caravan was dirty on arrival, had to get that sorted out. Kids softplay area filthy with even a soiled nappy in there. Playground had cans, wrappers all around it. The ballroom had tables that needed wiping, soiled chairs (wet with coke and sticky sweets), also staff put chairs by the fire exits for people to sit on, during packed events. Only one hard working bar man on duty. The pool and the shop were the only clean areas. Staff lovely, but oo few of them. However we just used it as a base and did trips out until late at night.

i havent been to the great yarmouth one..i live in norwich so is a little tooo close to seem like a holiday :)
my son is only 6 so he loves holiday camps, he doesnt care about going abroad in the sun and sitting on a beach for a week, he wants things to do :)
we got a good deal on ours...granted its term time but we paid 300 that includes breakfast and dinner, and hire of a cot, highchair and pushchair...which is great for us as we wouldnt be able to fit everything in the car :)
