Can anyone recommend a free (or very cheap) service to find my Dad? All I have to go by is his full name and the name of the road where his Mum and Dad possibly live (or used to live). So far I've tried 192.com and had a look on a few websites but they're all so expensive!! I'm 20 now and he left before I was born so I've never met him.
p.s. I've also texted Trisha so 'someone MAY call me back'

A long shot - have you tried the friends reunited site. He may have registered himself on there..... Friends reunited is free to use initially0

I was about to post recommending friends reunited but I've been beaten to it! My husband found his long-lost son this way, once we had the general area he was in(Mum has posted that in her notes) we got the full address from 192.co, fortuantely it was an unusal surname.
Good luck.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
We tried that first!! Seems that none of the obvious places (192.com, friends reunited) were any good and his surname's reasonably common (Lawson) so that didn't help!!0
-
send me a PM. wheres he from? as i have Lawsons in my family.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Have you written to the address you've got asking if anyone knows his whereabouts?0
-
if you only have the street name then you could try looking on the electoral roll to see if there are any lawsons registered in that street, then try getting their phone number from websites and call them, ask if they know him?52% tight0
-
have you tried putting his name in in quotes on Google? you will probably get a load of useless people but might find him somewhere... in a news story, on his work's website, etc..
make sure you try variants of his name as well like any common nicknames he might use (like Thomas/Tom..etc)
If you put my name in on Google the only person you get is really mesame works for my friend and my boyfriend..so it does work well for some people!
ETA: I also see in my local newspaper quite often when they publish letters from people looking for lost friends/relatives that are from the area.0 -
How about the Salvation Army? It says they charge a one off fee of £40 (£20 if you are on benefits)“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Tiff has beaten me to it again as I was about to suggest the salvation army.
Just as a long shot - how about local radio in case they do a slot."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

You could go to https://www.nethouseprices.com put in the postcode for the address you have, and then you will be able to see if the person has sold the house in the last 4 years. If so then you might want to contact the new tennants for a forwarding address.
Hope this might help a little, although might be barking up the wrong tree!
Good Luck
