When I signed up for Betfair (via Quidco) a couple of years of so back I got £50 cashback for wagering £10 (and made a profit of about £4 as well!).

what does this mean?
£20 in Free Bets! For the Grand National 8th-10th April. Bet 5 times and Paddy Power will match your average stake up to a max of £10. Bet another 5 times and they will match it again up to the value of £10. That's two Free Tenners
Can someone put it in simple terms please?0 -

Place 5 seperate bets and they will match your average stake. So if your average stake is £5 they will give you a free £5 bet.
Then bet a further 5 times and they will do the same.
ie
BET 1 £5
BET 2 £5
BET 3 £5
BET 4 £5
BET 5 £5
You then get a free £5 bet
BET 6 £5
BET 7 £5
BET 8 £5
BET 9 £5
BET 10 £5
you then get another free £5 betI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Surely that way your losing money?
Deposit £10, they give you £20 - you then bet £50, and then get £10 in free bets? add to that the £10 Quidco, thats a loss in my eyes? Or am I thinking wrong?0 -

Correct - hence why Paddy Power are a very successful betting business who make a large profit each year, out of clever little marketing gimmicks like this.
Overall you've got £30 in free bets, £10 quidco, but you've given them £50. Plus you've only able to withdraw the winnings from those £30 of free bets, which means you'll never actually see the £30 of free bets. Hence if you don't win the bets, they've given you £10, you've given them £50.
It's a gamble... oh wait they are a bookmakers...--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0 -

Knew I was working it out right...so I wont be singing up to them, and Betfair seems better (a straight £20) but I am already a member :mad:0 -
