Tropicana smoothies definitely have shrunk. They used to be in 1L containers and now they are in 750mls.

Bags of Mussels in the fresh fish counters of Tesco and Morrisons have shrunk as well. A year ago, they used to be bags of 1Kg, now they are 500g, so we have to buy 2 at a higher price!

It is common for manufacturers to reduce sizes (although not good for us). They are under constant pressure from Supermarkets to cut price and meet price points (psychological levels which we are prepared to pay), so they often reduce the size.

My biggest complaint about this is that as we have a family, we need bigger packs of things, so we just change the brand or buy the supermarkets own brand.
  • I eat a lot of caramel Snack a Jacks and there used to 14 in a pack - there are now 12. And they are less frequently on for £1 each.
  • Overalll size hasn't changed visibly, but there is now a V-shape groove along 4 faces. Makes the thing look nicely X-shaped, but still a reduction in volume!
  • Single packs of Snack a jacks (Not multipacks) used to be around 35g-40g?, they are now 25g and cost the same. This sort of thing really annoys me:mad:, it's like we're a bunch of mugs that are too stupid to notice.
  • Asda Turkey mince used to be 500g now its 454g (what an odd size) and it's the same price.
First post done!! MSE cherry popped lol

    It's not the size that's odd: 454g = 1lb :)
What's odd is the fact that they think no one will notice.
  • We eat a lot of Muller corners at home and have noticed that in the 'corner' section of the dessert you used to get this section about 3/4 full with filling but now you are lucky if it's half - a real rip off - why do they think their customer won't notice!
  • Has anyone notice how smaller the pastries are in GREGGS??
I reckon they have shrunk by 1/3 and the filling is almost non-exsistant.
I'd always treat myself and my daughter to a steak bake whenever we went to the Town Center, but i refuse to buy it now!

pretty all of Asda's own brand icecreams and lollys have gone from 6 in a box to 4 in a box for the same price :( There are 3 of us in our house so a box meant 2 each, now it's one each and one left over for the kids to fight over.
  • Cadbury Milk Chocolate Spread use to be 440g now 400g yet same price!!
