The Great 'Shrinking Food' Hunt

I think the cartons have "shrunk". I can't find any evidence to support this but I have noticed over the last year or so that it is often on offer in supermarkets and I think we are distracted by this and don't pay as much attention to the size...
Is it a ploy to make us think we are getting a bargain when in fact we are getting less for our money?0 -
Lots of items appear to be shrinking - bought some caramel Rocky bars recently and they are about half the size they used to be with much less chunky chocolate around them too. :-(0

These are definitely smaller; I buy mine from M& S now - blow the price, I don't want a smaller breakfast.0

My wife enjoys the healthy food bars made by Tesco and Alpen etc. but the size of these bars have shrunk over the past year yet the price has increased.0

When the creme eggs shrunk, people noticed and started writing to cadbury in their hundreds! Cadbury replied by putting a note on their website "Creme Eggs have not shrunk, your hands have gotten bigger". They got away with this for a while, until some guy found an old creme egg in the back of his freezer and compared it to a new one. Sure enough the old egg was bigger. There's a video of it on youtube. Cadbury had to come clean.
I don't mind so much that the eggs shrunk, I'm sure Cadbury had their reasons, but really, LYING about it! That's just plain out of order.
Don't suppose you can post the link to the video? Or if that's not allowed, maybe tell me the best search terms to find it myself? I'd like to see that0 -
Tesco's own brand Strong Dry Cider was hiked from £2.79 to £3.20 on the back of the 10% increase in cider duty in the budget, a bit of a "stealth tax" from Tesco's methinks!!!0

Dont know if anyone has mentioned this but about a year ago lynx reduced in size. We only noticed because the cans changed and when comparing the old can with the new can we spotted a reduction in weight. Cannot remember what it was exactly though - sorry0

I noticed some months ago that Newcastle Brown Ale has shrunk from 568ml to 500ml. I stopped drinking it when I couldn't get 10p back off the bottle anymore but now it is less than a pint I definitely won't bother!0
