Morning peeps
I am feeling a lot better today after a good night's sleep.
Already done two loads of washing and that is all on the line with another load in. I am taking advantage of the good weather and doing all the bedding today and tomorrow.
Shopping this morning but only need a few bits - then taking MIL to lunch and then the garden centre this afternoon - it's her birthday treat.
SIL's birthday tomoz( my hairdresser). Got her a nice candle set from ikea - she is as bad as me for candles:p
jc....:rotfl:Man cough - made me laugh :rotfl:
Taplady... Hope DH is ok ((hugs)) for him ...Did you enjoy your little drive last night x
Well off to the shops take care all and enjoy this lovely weather (even though I suspect most of us will be doing laundry) :rotfl:Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Busy day ahead and my chauffeur (DH) has man-cough...a lot like man-flu but with less snot
Bestest vibes being sent Diva's way today.
'Tis Spring here on the coast, no heating on at all last night and didn't need to turn it up even for a bit this morning! Sun is out in full force and it's ever so warm out already. Bout time.
The blind fitters called last night and will be here Monday morning so will have to get The Beast settled into a new spot on tomorrow and give her time to adjust . . . so she isn't in the way come Monday. Mind you, at 16yrs - blind, deaf and arthritic she seems to 'settle' quite easily
I've changed the bed so bedding to go into the WM, and towels. We have the area set up now where we're planting the peas and beans and I'll spend part of today working out where the rest of the veg will go, all in pots. Lots of firsts for us this year veggie wise.
Off I go, make a coffee, start the towels and then onto the veg patch (patio).
Hoping everyone else has a sunny and warm one too!0 -
Morning all
I finished (does a little happy dance)Well, almost, I have two or three pink orchids to add, but the racemes aren't dry yet. She hasn't seen it yet so I hope she likes it. Wedding is tomorrow.
It looks like this at the moment:
I don't want to move it. OH chose the tiniest hire car, so it look like I'm going to be letting the back seats down and wrapping it in duvets to transport it.
I'm making lemming sponges today for the people that don't like fruit cake. We're heading down tonight to my parents then will drive to Essex tomorrow morning. I must pack a box of things to take (knives, duct tape, sugar paste, ribbons, piping bags, cutters...) in case I have to repair anything after transit.
Not much else planned other than a lazy day baking, well - I have some paperwork to finish for work - even though I'm supposed to be on holiday, it doesn't ever stop.
Dinner will be something quick as we will be leaving quite soon after OH gets home. We had beef stew last night - OH has taken the rest of it for lunch - well almost the rest of it as he has a nasty habit of leaving two tablespoons of food in the bottom of the pan. This really irritates me. I think he does it because he doesn't want to take everything - but despite me explaining that it is useless to leave a tiny amount, he still does it.
Candygirl - It does sound like your DD needs a break - I don't think any mother makes the decision lightly to leave the little one for a long time even with somebody they know, love and trustEnjoy your quality time with Boo
Diva - thinking of you and hope you start to feel better soon
Redruby - Awwh - that's pantsThis flat it like that too; it was obviously painted in a hurry with no surface prep done. We had chunks of paint just flake off the windowsill.
is76 - welcome to OS
N9eav - glad you enjoyed your fishing
Essexgirl - ((hug)) for you - hope you start to feel better soon
jc - :rotfl: last time OH got ill he was convinced (no joke) that he had West Nile virus - even to the extent he was going to ask to be screened for it
I must nip into town to get some milk and butter in a bit and I need to finish cleaning the bathroom.
Have a great day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning All,
I have been good so far today, bathroom and downstairs loo both washed and floors done, washing out to dry (might not stay there long, clouds looming). I too have boiled eggs on for brekkie, and then will proceed with the great kitchen declutter. The boys will be chucked out soon for a play.
Coco is not herself this morning. She hasn't eaten her food and is mooching over oldest DS, and has persuaded him to sit on the floor so she can sit on his lap for a cuddle. I was up late last night and she was crying to get up on the couch beside me to nap!! I think I have inherited a depressive dog! Will keep an eye out, and maybe trot over to the vet for a double check later if she doesn't pick up soon.
Flutterby you are welcome, I think I should have said enthusiastically rather than attractively - although it's that too - I always think when I read your updates that you sound like someone who is content and fulfilled in your work.
Diva hope it's all tickety boo today!
Hugs to everyone else! Butterfly Brain not sure if I asked after you yesterday, but I did feel for you, and hope you are doing OK.
Have a good Friday, OS people.

ETA Wow Celyn that is fabulous!! What a gorgeous gift for your friend. Well done you, I'll bet it'll be worth the blood sweat and tears when you see your friends face, when she see it! thanks everyone for your concern over DH - he's very sore and has gone to bed for a bit - he really shook himself up, said he saw stars afterwards. He's a big chap to have a fall.
I had a lovely drive thanks!:j my car is all nice and shiny and I've just been and put some petrol in it as I'm taking my sister to pick her new car up on my way to work.(I bought her old one)
Redruby - hope the decorating goes ok, I'm still doing mine! never ending isn't it.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Good morning all. Day off today for me :j and it's a lovely day outside too! I have washed 3 loads and it's all on the lines outside drying :T I'm going to the library soon with my best friend and for a mooch round Bury. I'm crocheting her a blanket for her 40th birthday in November - traditional granny squares but done in bright pink, purple & white and I'm going to sew it together in broad stripes it should look pretty funky. We'll probably have a look in the wool shop & I'll buy another couple of balls for it.
Taplady Glad you enjoyed the drive in your new car. I'd second the idea of wrapping your poor DH in bubble wrap :rotfl:
Celyn What a fabulous cake you are so talented and patient too. I had to laugh at your OH leaving 2 spoons of something in a pan. My DH does it with cooked meat which he nibbles his way through in the evening getting a slice at a time every time he goes into the kitchen! He then decides to leave the last slice for what I don't know
Essex Girl Hope you start to feel better soon hon xx
Hester Brilliant idea getting some ready marinated meat in the freezer for bbq's :money: I will be pinching this idea for when DH decides he has to do his 'man = fire' bit again.
Smokey Sounds like a lovely holiday glad you all enjoyed it.
Bargain Bird Good luck today xx
No news from Diva yet I'll ring later tonight for an update. Good luck to her for today xx
Thats about it from me folks I shall go and get washed & dressed now as I've done everything in my dressing gown so far  :rotfl:
Have a good day xxx0 -

Morning All,
A beautiful sunny morning here and the wm on and then straight out on the line. We have a beautiful bush in the front garden full of pink buds and this morning one of th flowers is out. Its gorgeous. They are not out long only a short while in the spring but I enjoy them every year. I want to say its a chamelia but I know thats not right:o My DH is the gardener really but whatever it is its lovely:rotfl:
Taplady your poor hubby hope he feels better soon
Jackieglasgow Hope coco soon has her mojo back
Celyn90 that is wonderful, well done you, I am sure the bride will love it:T
Its a tough time at th moment. DD is trying to sort things out with her partner but I suspect its not going to happen. She wants to get married and he doesn't and never will. He says he loves her but she is not convinced. We had a long chat last night and she poured her heart out. She says she wants someone to adore her like her dad adores me. I think she deserves this as well so suspect she will be with us for a while longer yet. My heart breaks for her:( They have taken the baby out for the day today but think she is on the verge of finishing things for good.
On a lighter note I can't find any black trousers to fit anywhere. 14's too small 16's too big, regular too long and short too short:eek: I have been told to try Matal"n as they do different leg lengths. I think I am a 15's in between :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone, enjoy the sunshine J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
Working hard to get rid of our debt.0 -
Hi everyone,
Been MIA for a couple of days, things have been manic.
I caught up with yesterday's thread and much to my horror saw that you had posted the name of the winner of Masterchef Julie. We've not watched the final yet so I was a bit disappointed.
Not a lot OS going on with SIL down. We're going to see the Cuban Ballet company tomorrow and will probably try to visit the IWM Food exhibition beforehand.
Julie, our DD was the opposite, her partner started talking marriage and she left him because she thought he wasn't the one. He was devastated. DD is now in Cambodia, she left an SOS two days ago to say she was unable to get money and then we didn't hear from her for a couple of days!!! She's fine of course but it is a worry - 8 weeks 3 days till she gets home.0 -
celyn, that cake is absolutely stunning!
not a good day yesterday, had a car accident, a car drove in the back of me when i was stationary at a roundabout, totally his fault. ended up spending the night in hospital as apparentlt you can get whiplash in your stomach, my bladder went into spasm and i wanted to scream the place down, they have given me some very strong painkillers, and i am going to be refered to a urologist, think i may end up being diagnosed with a chronic bladder condition.
my insurance company are being great, my car is still driveable but there is a massive dent in the boot, getting an estimate on friday.
i am still having my housewarming party tonight, i am not letting this stop me!!! :beer:My friend and I will be baking lots of lovely OS things, which will hopefully take my mind of the burning in my bladder.
Love to all xxxHmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!0
