Just received my e-mail confirmation that it has been received

Wasting your time sending LBA unless you intend to go through with it.
Quote from their site
Once you have requested your cashback (and sent us your bill) we will first email you to confirm receipt of the bill, and again once your claim has been successfully approved. Approving a claim is usually completed within 7 days. Once approved we will process payment then send a final email when your cheque has been issued. Receipt of your cheque will take a maximum of 28 days from the date we issued your cheque. This allows time for secured printing and postage. Please note the cheque will be issued in the name of the account holder only.
The 28 days they refer to is from when they issue the cheque (which can be what they like but looks to be the 7 days plus 28 making it 35 days - add on 14 days to acknowledge receipt, you have something in region of 49 days to get your money?).

I agree.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
It came through in it's own time....Did you have to chase it to get the acknowledgement, or did it just come through in its own time ?...
I did notice that the Ts&Cs don't state they'll acknowledge your claim within a certain time, only that they'll approve it within 7 days (usually) of acknowledging the claim.0 -
Out of interest when you submit a claim through the website online do you have a record of the submission ???
ie. does it generate a copy that you have claimed ?
If you were to claim by post you could send it recorded etc or when you claim by email you would have a record of it being sent etc in case of any problems.
Does this new system allow you to have a copy for your own records or does it leave you exposed for your word against theirs that you have made a claim ????It's not just about the money0 -

I prefer to send things recorded delivery.
Emails are prone to being deleted or oversight by a person leading to delays (particularly if you have high volumes and small number of staff). Further, you do rely on the receiving email system being working properly.
Then again, you can't readily forge an email whilst recorded delivery can sometimes not get a signature as it should.
In an ideal world you would a have web page, attach documents and submit - get automated email acknowledgement ... but then companies stand to make no money.
I also noted that mobiles.co suddenly have fewer cashback deals in last 2 days (seems to be more automated cashback offerings which work out more expensive for consumer).0 -

Hi OneADay,
I take your point about they could ignore/delete emails as we both know that happens with them
And we also both know that they do not always sign for registered mail too
However ...the point is having proof that you have sent something and it strikes me that just clicking a submit button on a webite gives you no proof whatsoever and would leave yourself open !!!It's not just about the money0 -
i like posting as well to get a sig in case i need to send lba.lol
but would it not make sense to email 1st and if not sorted in 2 weeks just post signed for. might get paid twice.lol:D0 -

No I mean submitting something via a web page and getting automated response to say its been received. This is pretty common for a lot of business practices.
Admittedly till someone looks at what you have submitted, you would not feel too comfortable - so my preference is still postal recorded delivery (to be sent within first few days of the 60 day limit - and taking photocopies of whatever is sent just in case it goes wrong and you have to send again).0 -

Thers people on here saying they are not getting automated responses and they are relying on the fact that they have clicked a submit button ???
You and I both know how bad this company is to deal with and what to expect but there lots of people who don't and this new system they are using is starting to look very suspect as being a safe option for people to use !!!It's not just about the money0 -

Like I said before - I mean a web based system to submit whatever documents you have to submit and that web based system could have an automated reply to acknowledge receipt of the documents. Just receipt not approval, that would occur when a real person looks at it.
The system they are offering with sending emails has its faults as you say. Unless you are patient, you might end up waiting a fair few days for someone to pick up your email and respond to it. Mind you, it too could be automated if they wanted to but its not in their interest obviously.
The way I figure it if you are trying to penny pinch by not sending something via post mail, you are really should not be doing cash backs. There is a line I draw on penny pinching.
Until the email system is approved or replaced with a decent web based approach, I would stick to postal delivery (just think of all the postie jobs you are saving). 0
