Vodafone : 18 month contract about to expire, what can I get to stay?
I get 200 anytime minutes, 500 texts and free weekend calls to landline and Vodafones for £32 a month (including itemised billing).
I want to get either a Samsung D900 upgrade or a Sony Ericsson w850i (when it eventually comes out).
I'm sure I can get the phone free by calling up and asking for it, but if I call up asking to cancel will they throw in any extras to keep me? I'm not really fussed about leaving them so that doesnt bother me, but I'm happy with my current tarrif.
Any opinions welcome, especially those that have phoned up and threatened to cancel.

You can renew with Vodafone 2 months before your contract is due to end. I am a light user but found on 100 mins and 50 texts that I needed more text so today if I kept my phone they gave me 75 mins and 100 texts for £10 a month. I was happy with this deal. Previously I was paying £15 a month. I got stop the clock thrown in as well.0

You can probably get a free phone of your choice without too much hassle.
The first 18 month contract I had was £25 for 200 Anytime minutes, 500 texts and Stop the Clock.
When I called, I got a SE w810i, kept the same price plan and stop the clock thrown in for a 12-month contract.
If you're not fussed about leaving them, have you looked at T-Mobile Flext plans? I had to stay with Voda as they were the only ones with decent coverage in my area.0 -

Ok, so you got a 12 month deal instead of an 18? Thats a big reason why I'd consider leaving, since I'd rather be able to get a new phone every year rather than every 18 months.0 -
This may help. Go to Quidco.com, look for the Vodaphone link and get youreslf a Samsung E900 200 Anytime mins, 500 txts, 12 month contract for £30 and if thats not enough, if you do it through Quidco it states that Vodaphone have currently increased the cashback to £40 win:j :j :j win"Did you hear about the frog that broke down on the motorway???? They toad him away!"0

be careful with vodafone, from september the pics and video messaging are not included in the bundles.0

We had an 18 month contract with vodafone at the end of it I wrote to terminate the contract. A few days later we got a phone call from them offering us 2 of the latest phones free plus really good tariff. The best was the contract should be 18 months but they are letting us have it for 12 months.0

Yup, you can get Stop the Clock on 12 month deals. Just have to be patient or try different operators. If they won't give it to you, get the PAC code and sit tight. They will ring you within the week.0 -
Will they always call you after sending out a PAC code cos i just asked a guy from voda for my PAC code and asked the reason i was moving, and he made no attempt at all at offering me any new contracts0

I pay then £15pcm for the same as you.
in my experience, when you ask for your PAC code you get a call from retentions.0
