thats great news mazza, just remember however that if you do go on a DMP it will affect your credit history for the next 6 years, so although you would be debt free sooner you would still have the bad credit score for a while, this being said having access to easy credit is what has gotten most of us in this situation in the first place and with a good budget you will not need it ever again (other than a mortgage)

I hope your FIL is ok :grouphug:

We already have a mortgage and have fixed in for another two years so we are ok with that. Our credit is already shocking anyway I think. I don't think it would do us any harm to NOT be able to get credit. We both have pay day loans :owhich are crippling us each month, we earn decent wages, just made some really bad choices.

daft question alert - how long does it normally take to transfer money from one bank to another?

    daft answer alert.

depends on the bank and if you have transfered money to it before.

for example i am with HSBC if i transfer any money around my accounts i have with HSBC it is instantanious

if i transfer money to my wife who i transfer to on a regular basis it is usualy there within 2 hours

if i transfer the money to someone else it can take up to 2 days although it is usually done within the day

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Fabby tip for all those with either poundland or B&M near them....

The toiletry range called PURE is actually Boots No7 and Boots botanicals underneath the label.

I got 2 bottles of holiday sun for £1 in B&M, peeled off the label and its botanics

Poundland have a bigger range but my nearest is Hartlepool:(
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

I can move money between natwest and hsbc and it's instant-ish.

Gonzo - could you not take the kids with you? Then your wife's only got herself to worry about which might be easier if she needs to go to the hospital anyway...

Butti - The cat keeps sitting next to the rat and "muurping" at it but isn't intersted in doing anything else with it. Have just put some bread crusts out on the roof in the hope that the seagulls might knock the rat closer....or take it away.

i could take the wee one as she wouldnt know whats going on however the bigger 2 would want to stay at home with their mum and grandad (i am their step dad so my family are slightly different to them so will be less important to go to my cousins wedding than visit their grandad although the wee one is mine)
