Dyson or Henry...?

We used to have a Dyson DC05, one of the pull along ones. It cost over £300 at the time and didn't last half the time I expected it to. Parts became loose and it started to lose suction badly. Only lasted about 5 years and I replaced it with a Henry and he's still going strong!
Another vote for Henry.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.270 -

I've got wooden or tiled floors over all of downstairs and carpet upstairs, it makes short work of whatever you throw at it. The attatchments & long hose are great for curtains, cobweb corners and stairs. I would never get anything else. my current one is about 6 years old and had heavy use, no problems. I did have on one previously when they were pretty new, and to be fair it had it after about 3 years. I wonder if they are more robust now than the earlier models?! Dyson gets my vote anyway : )
Which model do you have?
I am still between Henry and Dyson so give it still few days before I buy.2014 - Lisbon - February

On a different note, we bought the original Dyson and liked it, especially because it was a Brit inventor and it was made in the UK,
sadly after a few years he moved his factory to Poland, because it was cheaper to manufacture there.
Henry, made by Numatic, are made in the UK http://www.numatic.co.uk/history.aspx
Hope this helps if you're 50/50 and can't decide.
DH and I both work in manufacturing and we do try to buy British if there are two similar products of the same price.
to add, we've not had a Henry, but the sparkies at work use one for cleaning up after them, it works a treat.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

We've got a Dyson and have had it for 6 years and it's still going strong (unlike my previous Electrolux which died after 2 years).
We have a Henry at work and I don't like it - mainly because it is a pull along style which I don't like (I prefer my upright Dyson!). I always think you have to work too hard with a pull along vacuum cleaner, but maybe that's just me being lazy!!0 -
Had a dyson which died but was never very happy with it, it was too heavy for me and used to tip over.
Got a Hetty now cos DH (builder) uses a henry at work and I love it. Ive got laminate flooring and stair carpet, and lots of pets. With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!0 -
I bought a hetty 2 months ago - She is amazing!
I have owned 2 dysons as well as many others over the last 7 years. None have lasted a year without failing in one way or another. I hoover every few days so its not like i over use them.
The Hetty has been a dream though, the carpet is lifting as i hoover, and that is without the turbo button on. Wish I had bought one years ago.0 -
Have had an upright dyson and then a Henry - my vote goes with Henry :j0

I'd have a Henr in preference to a Dyson. The Dyson we had was heavy and broke and we seemed to be forever cleaning filters to try and get it to keep working properly.
However we have a Sebo now and it's the best vacuum we've ever had. It works really well on laminate floors which our Dyson didn't, has a five year guarantee, is relatively quiet and lighter than a Miele, which was our other option. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
