Maybe you should change the thumb down icon on your post!0 -
Robert2009 wrote: »So you're telling me you use 1300 kWh of electricity and 3350 kWh of gas a year?
My 2 computers use that electricity in a year.
If I was using that I would be cheaper with Ebico.
Rob
That is why I am with Ebico because as a small consumer it is cheaper for me. Also unlike your good self I do not have 2 computers! If you went down to one computer your consumption might decrease!
Plus unlike many of the populus I don't have a television set. However, I do have a Radio. Instead I like to busy myslef with my hobbies. Karate obviously, swimming, skating, windsurfing, walking, kite flying, snowboarding and mountain biking. A TV accounts for a large proportion of a home's electricity consumption and for the increase in brain death amongst the population. So the savings made by not having a TV I put into my hobbies I guess.
I do live in a 2 bed flat but I am careful with consumption and only put the light on in the room being used. My condensing boiler heats only the water I use (metered water).
It is all very well fitting energy saving bulbs but they still draw power and still draw it in rooms with nobody in them!!!:D
A good surfing friend of mine also is saving a bundle as he has a wood burning stove that also heats his water and radiators. The wood is free from the local copses and down along the shore! His house is not modern but is a former coastguard cottage with 3 bedrooms.

Good point Robert2009! may be I can afford to take the high ground. However, Ebico worked out cheaper for me even with the EoN DD discount. My usage is low - both electricity and gas are rarely over £20 per quarter.
Hey Mee any tips on getting consumption as low as you say? Are you on prepay ebico?0 -
Robert2009 wrote: »You try paying that in Scotland for a 3 bed semi, I would love to live in the south of England where it is nice and warm.
It was frosty the other night, ice on the car when I got up.
Outside temp 9 deg C at 6pm just now and that is what it has been all day.

My bills are pretty much the same as yours and I live down in the South West where it was a very cold long winter:eek:Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

Maybe you should reduce your consumption and you would save further no matter who supplies you.0 -

They're low, but not incredibly low. If anything, the electricity is a little high.0 -

Yes, £15 per month is relatively high for users with a very low consumption. What are you on that you are unable to interpret context?

Kim, you come on here saying that bills running into hundreds of pounds are not high considering the cold weather we have had, and then you say an electric bill of £15.00 per month is not that low. Excuse me for being ever so slightly confused....0
